We didn't want you to go on summer break without first knowing which Yalies got into those fantabulous secret societies! Like, your entire summer would be ruined! Sure, that first Skull and Bones list we posted was a total fake-out (only one correct name in the end!) - but who really cared? Here are the society lists, forealz.

We wish these kids the best. As long as the new members of Scroll and Key and Skull and Bones and Wolf's Head don't paint their theses with the blood of aborted fetuses, or make giant swastikas out of snow, or construct giant penises out of Christmas lights, or have enormous flame-wars with their gay lovers on our comment boards, or go to war in Iraq because they're "deciders," they're fine by us.

After the jump: the not-so-secret society lists in full.

Well, for one, only press the Post Comment button once.
But really, if you have to ask....

wait says:

there are girls in the senior societies at yale? lame.

Y 09 says:

The bones and keys lists are spot on. half of the wolfshead list is incorrect.

y10 says:

Mangino is in Bones

Not Tapped says:

Wow! I went to High School with one of those guys!

Y 09 says:

Mangino is not in bones, hes with the other douchebags in keys, which is for tools.

y09 says:

Bones is 100% correct. wolfs head is wrong. I don't know about keys

Mangino is sweet says:

mangino is really sweet. i don't really care about societies, but i think it's ridicoulous the rumpus and annonymous losers of ivyblog try to rip mangino. he's an amazing ydn editor and a really nice guy.

jacob savage says:

um, except for one post about mangino maybe liking hillary clinton - which we later halfheartedly apologized for - we haven't bashed mangino at all. seems like a nice guy.

secret society anonymous says:

Wolf's Head is wrong. One or more people on the list are in other societies.

I'm Cool Too! says:

The lists are close, but not right, but I won't tell you where because I'm awesome and know the REAL secrets of Yale!

Newsflash: nobody gives a shit about how much you know about which societies tapped whom.

y09 says:

way to be totally late on this, ivygate. this email was sent over a week ago and you JUST NOW picked it up? old news

steve-0 says:

jacob savage,
aren't you just a little too familiar with the hall and the vine to be whining about secret societies and elitism. some people are just naturally better than other people and you need to learn to accept that. it's how god and moses planned it after they finished battling ghidorah, the three headed monster.

in keys says:

yup. we're tools and douches. but guess what, we get shitloads of money.

in keys says:

We are tools and douches. But guess what, we get shitloads of money.

y11 says:

seriously, mangino is the man. i hope next year's editor-in-chief can come close to matching him...

cornell says:

hey what about the cornell secret societies?

haha says:

cornell is a whiny bitch, nobody gives a damn about you!

y'09 says:

Wolf's Head is definitely wrong - I know someone who's in it but who isn't on that list. What would have been a more interesting/amusing story was the "YDN email" that included these names.

D'09 says:

does it scare anyone that, for a number of reasons, some of people on these lists might end up running shit in whatever's left of this country in 35 years or so? cause based on the track records of certain Yalie society alumni, it scares the hell out of me. I guess I just distrust Yalies in general... but can you blame me?

non-bulldog says:

rosie avila, that b****, got into the Wolf's Head? how the f*** did she get it?

@D'09 says:

I can, actually. By "certain Yalie society alumni," you clearly mean HW and W. That's two people, the latter of which wouldn't have even gotten in if not for his legacy status and wouldn't have stayed in if not for gentlemen's Cs. Societies churn out 15 people each per year, and the vast majority go on to be pretty successful. Hate to break to you, but if you're scared these people might run shit 30 years from now, you should be pretty paranoid right now as well, not to mention questioning the last two hundred years. This isn't a new pattern, by any means.

@y10 says:

Mangino isnt in Bones, but Bones tapped him and he turned them down. He took the Keys tap instead.

@y10 says:

Mangino isnt in Bones, but Bones tapped him and he turned them down. He took the Keys tap instead.

morse says:

i guess just like last year's bone rejector, Naima Costa, Mangino actually has some integrity. bones is tied to some of the premier war mongerers of our time, he was right to reject them.

bonesy says:

What exactly do these societies do anymore? What is the point, in this day and age other than ritual and carrying on tradition. I'm a part of greek life at my school, and although we say we're not just a social organization (read org that provides free booze), and do a lot of community work, theres really no point to having societies, fraternities, sororities or any of the like since students who are going to grow up to become great really don't need the support of secret cult-like groups while they are undergrads.

@bonesy says:

That's the thing, though. The societies aren't really about making their members great. It's a misconception that they are. They are about the bonding that comes when 15 people spend so much time together and share all their secrets. Honestly, they shouldn't be unique to Yale, if they are.

rubberducky says:

if they're not doing anything underhanded then why do some people actually REJECT them? and it's always the people who seem the most well-adjusted, self-possessed, and full of integrity who do so...

@bonesy says:

Sorry, rubberducky. Meant to say all the societies except Skull and Bones. Whether or not Skull and Bones is underhanded now (who knows?), it has a questionable history, which is reason enough for some to reject it. As for reasons to reject the others, some do it because of a lack of time, others because they aren't really interested in making a few new friends senior year.

john walker says:

As stated above, Andrew Mangino was tapped for both Bones and Keys. He accepted Keys and rejected Bones.

@rubberducky says:

People reject them for OTHER secret socities. It's a preference thing, like rejecting Yale to go to Harvard or vice versa or whatever. Even the most vehement society haters, if offered a top by the big guns, will abruptly feel differently and accept. Seen it happen. As for Bones being "underhanded," that's not truth anymore. It used to be, sure, but so did the Catholic Church. You just sound bitter.

rubberducky says:

umm...the Catholic Church is STILL underhanded. LOL. You sound like one of the wankers in these societies defending it. Fact is not everyone who objects to them and is offered a tap "abruptly feels differently and accepts." I rejected them three years ago and so did other people I know and no, not for other societies. We did it for something else: integrity.

@rubberducky says:

Aren't we being a bit self-congratulatory here? So do you consider yourself "most well-adjusted, self-possessed, and full of integrity" because you turned down a Bones tap? How can this be? After all, Yale's history is strewn with racism and sexism, and yet you chose to attend! America's history is full of shameful underhandedness, and yet you identify yourself as an American! How can you condemn that which you know nothing about? As I recall, there were three people who rejected Bones that year - two went to other societies, and one decided to take the fall semester off. She didn't have grandiose illusions about her decision or its implication on her character. I understand your ego was hurt and you like telling everyone that you rejected them, not vice versa, but jeez! Get over it! It's been three years.

rubberducky says:

LOL! Ah, spoken like a true Bones shill! You're obviously upset because you know deep down I'm right. And yes Yale's history (and this country's history) is not pretty either but secret societies - and THIS hideous one in particular - are much worse. I didn't want to be a part of an elitist, pretentious organization that is connected to the premier war-mongerers of our time. Or one whose older members, just a few years ago, went ape shit because the new crop featured women. And they took that ridiculous issue all the way to the Superior Court too! Absurd! And then I'd have to sit there at functions and kiss those members' asses? I think not. I may not be the most "well adjusted, self possessed and full of integrity" person, but I'm not a sellout like some of you. And you'll never admit it but that's ok because I know - and you know - that deep down I am right. And that drives you nuts. That people like me (and there are some of us) had the dignity to reject something you couldn't bend over backwards fast enough to get into. So go ahead with your claims that the society has changed and your "token taps." It doesn't erase everything S&B stands for.

@rubberducky says:

I am neither upset nor a member of Bones. A bit bored, maybe (after all, I am responding to a fake flamebait... twice!) There is nothing "deep down" about your superficial assessment of the society system or your opinions about Bones. In fact, we use the WFB anecdote all the time to lure potential Bones taps to our group. I just wanted to hand out a reality check - turning down a Bones tap doesn't make you a hero. I also wanted to clarify for everyone on Ivygate that you were never offered an election to Bones, as per my previous comment. So stop bullshitting. I suspect you are the gay ex-lover of that other gay dude who was in Bones this year, but let's not go there again. What an embarrassing fiasco for Bones, Yale, gays in general, and the thief himself!

@rubberducky says:

Oh, and just to clarify, my first post on this issue was at 6:16 PM on May 15. The first "@rubberducky" post is not mine. I know there are people who turn down society taps for various reasons. You aren't one of them though.

P.S. Who said anything about token taps?

christianarchisti says:

You're all traitorious rothschildists; sub humans dedicated to the defiling and emasculation of democracies, of america, and everything good america fraudulently claimed it represented. Traitorious rothschildists underwrote america's birth and their house of rothschild in the same year 1776. Aren't you more inclined to believe they're all rothschildists rather than skull and bones and what ever other jagoff names these and the piece of shit masons and illuminatti that have contributed to the mass extinction of the planet call themselves. The rothschildists are king killers, sacked king george and forced him to raise taxes on the colonies, rothschilds fathered adolf hitler and sacked the queen of england with the rockefellers financial support, and if their history proves to be the case the next major conquest in their Messianic quest to sack the empires games would be america. They created Israel and a financed a whole new murderous brand or sect of Judaism. Personally I don't believe america exists, I believe america is a fabrication of the media and bankers and y'all are the rothschildists evil mass murdering toys for their own personal kingdom on earth. When you look for the truth this version is reality, the country america is the biggest fraud this planet will ever know.

rubberducky says:

Please. You don't know me or my history but it's ok. I don't have to justify myself to you. I was tapped and I turned them down years ago. The bruhaha over those two "gay dudes" as you call them is actually not the most embarrassing thing one can say about S&B which is why I don't care to address it. (And no I'm not connected to either one of them, but nice try) More insidious to me is a group connected to the greatest war mongerers of our time, a group that was historically involved in power grabbing, stealing, threatening anyone who dared to speak Truth to Power, and any number of other hideous practices. Here's a link to an interview conducted by the esteemed Amy Goodman on this topic back in 2004 when Bones had BOTH Bush and Kerry vying for the Presidency. Note how the author of the book revealing secrets of the society talks about being threatened in her career and about how Bonesmen didn't care whether Bush or Kerry won, it was a win-win for them either way. And these people claim to be liberal intellectuals nowadays and not connected to these evil men in the past? Please.
