Worst “Box” Parody Officially Worsted
Objection...
If there were ever a blog begging to be created, it's lamedickinaboxparodies.blogspot.com. In fact, after running "Dick in a Box" spin-offs from Penn (which, to be fair, became a bona fide hit), Yale, and even Facebook, we starting to think about changing the theme of this here blog to meet demand.
Now in saunters Columbia, late to the party as usual, although this time it's not fashionable whatsoever. Or funny. The video was created as part of the Law Revue, an annual show produced and performed by law students -- but apparently the "in a box" phenomenon rose, peaked, and declined while they had their noses buried in torts. Two months ago we could hardly believe Yale kids were still trying to get in on the joke. Also, it's a good thing these people are in law school, because the war crime-like MIDI orchestration just made us gash out our eardrums with the thin end of a gavel, and we're suing for redress. Maybe we'll throw in a count of false advertising, too. A parody about Hasids and bagels at Columbia? We think the term is documentary.

Columbia’s not late to the party, Columbia IS THE PARTY! Don’t you understand irony when you see it?

Dear IGB,
Thanks so much for this great review! We apologize for coming “late to the party.” We spoke to some rabbis, but they were unwilling to move Passover up to January to allow for a timelier release for our video; ditto for student services who refused to move our Law Revue show. We understand how this must hurt your soul - wait, actually we don’t, since we sold ours years ago when we decided to go into corporate law - and hope that your eardrums have bled out completely, lest you try to cram someone else’s box down your ear-canal.
To show that there’s no ill-will, we’ve already bought you a Passover afikoman present for next year: “Dictionary in a Box.” This way, when you use words like “parody” in the future (herein, referencing the original SNL digital short - not bagels or orthodox Jews), you may actually do so correctly. Heck, we’ll even throw in a copy of Strunk & White, to help all you future New York Free Press columnists avoid gaffes such as “we starting to think” in your the blistering reviews.
Libel is fun,
LAW REVUE
