This one’s all ours, baby. Remember that fancy website Yale used to announce their choice of MGMT, just a few hours ago? Here’s an interesting slice of the source code:

    This would be awful if it’s the actual lineup. Matt and Kim are pretty good live, but MGMT sucks live. I also find it very hard to believe Ying Yang Twinz (do they really spell it with a z?) were booked, given their biggest hit’s chorus is “Hey b—-h, wait ’til you see my dick.’” Having been involved with Spring Fling planning the past couple years, I can tell you that not offending people is now a big concern, so Ying Yang would be a big shift in the other direction. Plus they’re terrible.

    I think it’s real. I wouldn’t be surprised if MGMT sucked live, but they’re good enough on tape for this lineup to read as a solid one. Come on, remember Sean Kingston? The YCC isn’t very good at checking into the quality of live performances (of course, I’m not sure there’s anyone who would posit that Kingston is good on the radio, either).

    Saw MGMT at Bonnaroo, great concert, but saw Matt and Kim play in LA. They’re fucking awesome! Finally a solid lineup.
