Estes apparently is one of the tasteless and corrupt Arianna Huffington’s new writers. No one should be surprised. Huffington’s writers are anti-Semitic, fascistic and sick. She’s hired him for a new dept at the HuffPo, where she claims he will promote journalistic ethics and standards. If this article is anything to judge, Estes idea of ethics and standards are rather like those writers to helped bring Hitler to power.

Maybe you need to bend your policy of taking down posts…there is always a first time. Besides, isn’t it kind of dishonest to say you don’t take them down but then you make changes?

No one doubts that this post, like the cave wall scratchings of Lascaux, was motivated by a crude need for attention; it is as if the first human has spoken, and yelled, “I exist! Love me!” The problem is that this Estes creature, still in a primordial state, has yet to even attain the status of Rousseau’s noble savage; he gropes about, alone and isolated, and with Hobbesian flourish, will find his success “nasty, brutish, and short.” He might be “sensible,” in the sense that his five senses function as adequately as any healthy animal’s, but he lacks sensibility.

I personally knew Warren as he was a very good friend of my son’s at Cornell. He was a bright, vivacious and generous soul who had his future taken away in the most shocking way.

I found this unbelievably tasteful and exploitative post while googling Warren’s name. So many people have touched me with their thoughtful posts/blogs/tweets – this article shocked and sickened me.

I hope Warren’s parents and others who were close to him (including my son) do not accidentally come across this as I did.

I really feel like you guys need to stay in your niche. Stick to the humor articles and try to avoid the serious issues that involve recent deaths.

Use to enjoy this blog until the way the staff handled this situation. Not quite sure why the staff does not fix their mistake professionally and correctly. Why does the staff find it more appropriate to poke fun at Cornell’s administration at the expense of a student who died, but delivers the news on the murder at Yale in the proper tone? The staff made a huge mistake and should rectify the situation sooner rather than later.

You commenters need to chill out, in my opinion. Yeah, maybe this post was somewhat distasteful, but it really doesn’t seem like any light was made of the unfortunate death of this student. It is truly sad, but this post only pokes fun at the sensationalist journalism that has marked the coverage of the swine flu and administrative reactions, not Warren Schor’s death. It is always extremely sad when a young, intelligent person passes. IvyGate is not known as a bastion of P.C. journalism, and if you read it even occasionally you know this. If you want to get angry at someone, scream about the editors and commenters at the Harvard newspaper who think it is OK to print ads questioning the holocaust.
