Emma Watson Going to Yale, Incompetent Scottish Mag Says
The List, a Scottish arts and entertainment magazine, has reported that Emma Watson is a “University nerd” headed for Yale come September rather than Brown, as originally reported. Confused? Watson probably is too.
Maybe the bleary-eyed author accidentally clicked on a faux-Twitter posting where a pseudo-Watson said she had accepted Yale’s offer. I mean, New Haven? Really? Who would fall for that?
People Magazine has failed to confirm the story. A recent piece on Hermione’s recent grown-up Interview led with “It’s no secret Emma Watson – a.k.a. Hermione Granger in Harry Potter’s world – wants a degree from an American college, preferably an Ivy League school like Brown.” (Emphasis added.) Smooth, very smooth, People.
Our inside sources say that barring a drastic change of plans, the prize prefrosh is “assumed” to be coming, fulfilling every Brunonian dream of finally meeting their bookish childhood idol.
As of April 14th, Watson, who recently turned 19, blogged that she still hadn’t decided where to go. But it looks like she will be pursuing higher education in the fall, unlike her co-star Daniel Radcliffe (he who famously overexposed himself, with a horse) who set eating clubbers’ panties aflame with rumors that he would be attending Princeton. Only that never happened.
We have one last question: did she get rejected from Harvard? Because she definitely visited.

We’ve been over this. She never submitted complete apps to Harvard OR Yale. Brown it is, and Brown it shall be.

A good source says she did not get into Harvard, but turned down Yale for Brown.

I can’t imagine that Emma Watson didn’t get into every school she applied to. Are you telling me schools would rather have some no-name alumni’s son rather than Emma Watson?

Well, there goes our reputation once again.

Is she Emma Thompson’s child?

Okay. Reality check. As everyone knows, the Ivys especially seek candidates who are not only smart, but have exceptional talents or accomplishments that will enrich their environment. So if you are an admissions officer at ________ (fill in any Ivy), and you find an app in the pile where some girl has (a) been gainfully employed since the age of 10, (b) been born in France, lives in England, (c) has achieved global recognition, plus some AOL and MTV awards (beats National Merit Scholar, right?), (d) has earned $17 MILLION by the age of 18, and (e) is extremely bright and personable … who would you take? This applicant? Or some unaccomplished nerd who nobody has ever heard of, like Adam Clark Whatsisface??? This girl is not going to get turned down ANYWHERE -– unless it’s an all-guys school.

Did we ever find out where she is actually going? At Dartmouth, we can officially search for names in the Class of 2013 now in the name directory, so could some Brownies/Yalies try doing something similar?

She is coming to Brown, joining Stephen Spielberg’s daughter and the rest of our famous bunch..

Fact: my father works for Yale’s admissions department and he says Emma will be coming to Yale in the fall. I don’t know where the Brown rumors came from, unless she has changed her mind suddenly, but they were alerted to be aware she is coming and will need to be signed up for classes early to avoid the hassle of fall sign up. This is standard with every famous or exceptionally wealthy/important student.

I’m a member of the Brown class of 2013, and when you search the freshman directory for Emma Watson, nothing comes up. Unless she’s using a fake name or not in the directory, I don’t think she;scoming.

@Yalie
Fact: Friends in the Brown admission department have said the same thing. Who really cares though; anywhere she goes she’s going to have a weird experience.

Just wanted to say that Emma Watson did, for about three days, show up on the Brown directory. Then she mysteriously disappeared. But I guess that does mean that she’s coming to Brown.

Emma Watson is going to Brown.
