I think that some people are forgetting that Yale is not the world, it is a school. The fact that the rape crisis women’s center has to sue Yale to get them to acknowledge that men should not be allowed to stand outside and yell and hold signs that say demeaning, sexual things about female students is preposterous. Yale should take care of this themselves. What kind of education are Yale’s men and women getting from this particular situation?

Oh and guys? I don’t think that the outcry is because feminists hate MEN (as far as I know, the women from the women’s center did not go and yell hateful things in front of the fraternity), but that they hate being called sluts when trying to enter the women’s center.

The obvious point to make is that Yale sluts grow up. And they’ve been growing up for some time now. They grow up into CEOs, CFOs, senior partners in law firms. Heads of merchant banks. Faculty principals. Against all the odds, through all the crap. And they have very long memories. This little exercise may have been very comical for the participants. But Zeta Psis now have a slight odour about them. There’s something at the back of one’s mind when it gets mentioned on a resume. Not discrimination – of course – just a slight sense that with 200 others for the vacancy one would prefer to look at the ones which might not prove – problematic.

Probably the worst thing about the incident was that the Zeta Psi rushees were blocking people from coming in or out and chanting “dick dick dick.”
This constitutes a serious fire-hazard, noise pollution, and impediment to the free passage of women to the centre.

“Stupid law suit”? Because shouting “Dick!” in front of a crisis center while women try to enter is the epitome of intelligence? I’d much rather be the person to file a “stupid” suit than one of those asshats posing in that photo. You guys must not understand just how tasteless this whole ordeal was. They could have written that little sign and posed ANYWHERE on campus, for the love of God. But they just had to choose the Women’s Center, right? And they just had to shout, “Dick!” at women as they entered, right? All of this was intended to be funny? And because its intentions were comical that makes it all okay?
