poor song choice notwithstanding, nonsequitur has both good coreo and arrangements. and they’re funny. unlike the other guys.
October 29th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
well the thing about columbia’s group is that they actually sound good musically and it looks like they’re having fun. dartmouth’s soloist is just awful.
October 29th, 2007 at 5:46 pm
oh i just watched all of dartmouth’s and realized they had multiple soloists, who are all apparently going through puberty. their voices are cracking left and right!
October 29th, 2007 at 6:19 pm
omg i saw nonsequitor in hartford last year and they were really good!

Hard to say how clear cut this “competition” will be, since only the worst YouTube videos are being picked. (I’m sure these groups have had much better performances)
October 29th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
An ‘omg’ and an ending exclamation point! Like why are you a 13 yo?
October 29th, 2007 at 7:35 pm
i’m 12…
October 29th, 2007 at 7:39 pm
As sad as it is that I know this, the Fallen Angels are singing Ashlee Simpson’s “Boyfriend”, much less respectable than any Kelly Clarkson song as far as I’m concerned.

@ashamed male: don’t be ashamed, that’s a VERY good call and reminds me of something i forgot to mention. The original clip that i had in mind was of them singing kelly clarkson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v72wNpgjG8). BUT, as i was about to put in the embedding code for the video, it says “Embedding disabled by request” on the youtube page, something i have never encountered while trying to post many, many more embarrassing videos in the past. just who are these hussies?? anyway, feel free to vote for them based on either the clip here or the other one of kelly clarkson.

By far the best A Cappella song I’ve heard: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~aires/sounds/sweet_child.mp3
Sorry Cords, I didn’t want to vote for you, but talk about poor song choice.
October 29th, 2007 at 8:33 pm
I dont know about these 4 being the worst of the worst
-all of the ones iv seen on cornell campus are worse

Chord on Blues is a disgrace to a capella. And a capella is a disgrace to music.

Whilst by no means pleasurable listening, Columbia’s group is leagues better than the other three. Penn’s Daft Punk appears to be performed by a troupe of uncoordinated monkeys with ten hours collective singing experience. rule!

How old is this Nonseq video, I don’t recognize any current people?

the nonseq video is from their end of the year concert last year (spring 2007). most of the people in that video are still in the group, one or two soloists withstanding.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
Non sequitur is definitely top two at Columbia. If I have to be subjected to an a capella concert, I would pick Non seq anyday. CUMB IS BETTER G(TB)^2 COME TO ORGO NIGHT
October 29th, 2007 at 10:04 pm
actually, the vid is from our 2006 fall concert. there’s an even older britney medley on youtube, and songs from some of our other performances, too.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:04 pm
that fat dude from the chord on blues is gross.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:11 pm
I always thought that the the Noteables were widely regarded as being Harvard’s worst a capella group. I believe that the Lampoon once described them as a “sonic Auschwitz.”
October 29th, 2007 at 11:24 pm
I dunno, the FA have always been regarded as the worst of the ‘real’ a cappella at Harvard (the Noteables don’t really count, I don’t think). I’d definitely urge people to watch the Kelly Clarkson video on youtube to cement that in place
October 29th, 2007 at 11:25 pm
i usually like the cords, but whoever mentioned the cracking voices is right.
honestly, this is pretty bad.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
Lets start a series of “hilariously fat kids of the ivy league”
October 30th, 2007 at 12:11 am
ever happened to the h-bomb? did that fizzle out?
October 30th, 2007 at 12:27 am
The worst group at Dartmouth is by far Final Cut, though they have no videos on Youtube. The Cords are actually one of our best groups.
October 30th, 2007 at 12:39 am
If you wanna see some real shit go youtube Cayuga’s waiters Boston by Augustana. BM kill this!!!!@
October 30th, 2007 at 12:41 am
you have to give the dartmouth boys credit for dancing nsync style.
and the girls in the columbia group seemed like they just wanted people to think they’re sexy… but they’re not.
October 30th, 2007 at 5:54 pm
whoa, the kelly clarkson cover by FA is seriously the worst thing since a cappella. such a shame you couldn’t embed it.
October 30th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
i think the nonseq girls are all DAMN sexy. i would do any one of them.
October 30th, 2007 at 8:22 pm
the din and tonics are easily one of the worst groups at harvard. can you include them in the competition?

After this competition, let’s get video of that “editor” singing vs. OTB sleeping and vote on who sounds better. Because we all know the only thing worse than a capella is the sophmoric humor of college rags.
