Arguably Improving College Soap Opera Monday, Part I: “Ivory Tower” Proves If Anyone Can Ruin Sex, Harvard Can
Some of the greatest loves in history were never meant to be. Shakespeare’s RoMo and JuCap, undone by fate and feud … Titanic’s Jack and Rose, whose impervious love was on a pervious ship … and Ivory Tower’s Lisa Thompson and Adam James, cursed by Harvard’s regulations on peer advisor-advisee relations.
It’s time for another episode of the Harvard soap opera, and you know what that means! More echoey audio, strained dramatic timing and the most uncomfortably filmed sex since Dakota Fanning’s latest. Look for no fewer than five queasy kiss scenes; if you’d like your libido back, stay tuned after the credits for a funny male striptease that’ll make you forget what you just saw.

OMG, that was the crapiest crap I’ve ever seen. Seriously, so much for Harvard’s theater department!

Harvard’s Theater department (which doesn’t actually exist…we don’t have a department…we have a group of undergraduates…but regardless) has NOTHING to do with this show, nor is anyone ON this show really ever featured on the stage. Understandably.
Though the theme song is catchy (by Blanks…though I haven’t heard it since we wrote it two years ago…myspace.com/blanks).

Please, you’re actually surprised that Harvard can ruin sex? I refer you to the previous article on this site. ‘Nuff said.

Also, so much for Harvard’s capacity to understand sarcasm.

the guy who plays danny has been in several BlackCAST plays, and the dude who plays Adam has been in at least on play at Harvard, that I know of.

Jon Gentry is a badass, but he hasn’t been cast in much outside of blackcast. As for Morley (the kid who plays adam), he isn’t in any shows on the Harvard Theater Database and I’ve never seen him in anything.
I’m not hating on the actors. It’s not really their fault. I was only suggesting (in response to comments that this acting was representative of the Harvard Theater community) that theater actors tend to be more serious about what they’re up to compared to people on HRTV. Doesn’t mean that HRTV actors suck, but their vehicles are certainly not as conducive to showing their skills.
