Vayner Interview Makes Rita Cosby’s Look Like the Cross-Ex Scene from ‘A Few Good Men’

Vayner Interview Makes Rita Cosby's Look Like the Cross-Ex Scene from 'A Few Good Men'Props to the Yale Herald for being the first college publication to get an interview with Aleksey Vayner. Too bad they left their spine on the mantelpiece next to their keys that day. Here's a snippet:

YH: One endeavor your résumé mentions is Vayner Capital Management, a business that you reportedly created. Could you describe this business?

AV: We're a limited liability corporation, based in New York.

YH: Is that all you can say about it on the record?

AV: Yes.

Now that, folks, is what we call a follow-up question. The piece is so hard-hitting the byline is blank; no one on staff seems to want to take credit for it. Keep on sluggin', guys.

A: I run my career how I run my career. You want to investigate me, roll the dice and take your chances. I eat breakfast 300 yards from 4000 Yalieis who are training to best me, so don’t think for one second that you can come down here, flash a reporter’s ID, and make me nervous.

Q: But do you have an answer??

A: Absolutely. My answer is I don’t have the first damn clue. Maybe the camera angle was off on the skying shot, or maybe the brick shot did not actually show me do it. And maybe I did study Asian healing techniques by googling ‘Asian healing techniques’. I’m an educated man, but I’m afraid I can’t speak intelligently about the exact specifics of the business model of the firm I am a CEO of. What I do know is that I am several years late in graduating and that I will never have a job on Wall Street. Now, are these really the questions I was called here to answer? Phone calls and YouTube videos?? Please tell me that you have something more, Reporter. Please tell me that you haven’t pinned your hopes to a silly little blog called IvyGate.

How did his single-parent family afford training for all of his extraordinary, wonderful, world-class talents starting from the age of six?

  3. yaaaaaaaylie Says:

    “YH: Were the blocks pre-broken?

AV: No, they were regular construction bricks.”

That one made me laugh out loud very hard. If there’s anything there that establishes what a lie his act is, here it is…

  4. Bill Says:

    Col. Jessup, haha great job.

Which begs the question, who’s crazier — Tom Cruise or Aleksey Vayner?
