Lord of the Lies: Aleksey Vayner Outdoes Himself
The Aleksey Vayner saga continues this week, and we're happy to report: It just keeps getting better. A quick preview of this entry for the Adderall set:
- Vayner's fraudulent investment firm
- Vayner's fraudulent charity
- Vayner's fraudulent book about the Holocaust
Let's start with his investment firm, Vayner Capital Management LLC. The site is pretty basic -- unassuming layout, innocuous graphics, stock photos. But take a look at the text. On the "About Us" page (Google Cache, we love you!), Vayner Capital promises to marshal "expertise," "agility" and "passion" to all its business dealings. Here's a sample:
Our people bring a passionate intensity to the way we invest and service our clients. This is especially true in the realm of investment research, where our competitive edge lies in our drive to identify opportunities before they become widely known, to unearth information that others overlook, and to understand the companies in which we invest to the greatest degree possible.
Why does this matter? That paragraph is nearly identical to a section from the web site of Denver Investment Advisors, who also promise "experience," "focus," "passion," and "agility." Compare here. It's not clear if Denver knows about the homage, but we're sure their lawyers would be flattered.
Now let's turn to Vayner's charity, Youth Empowerment Strategies -- not to be confused, of course with this Youth Empowerment Strategies. Why are there two? Well, we're gonna break it down real simple: one is real, and the other isn't.
Vayner's site has a "Charity Navigator Four Star Charity" logo from Charity Navigator, an organization that ranks good charities and weeds out frauds. We called them this morning. "Oh, we've heard of them," Leonie Giles, a program analyst there, said immediately. They asked Aleksey's site (which lists a non-existant Manhattan address on its "Donate Another Way" page, btw) to take down the fake "Four Star" logo two months ago, and are considering legal action against them. Giles recommended we contact the freaking Connecticut attorney general.
Vayner lists on his resume his self-published book, Women's Silent Tears, which he calls a "gendered look at the Holocaust." You can't read the whole book online, but you can preview the first few pages. We examined a section on euthanasia, and guess what. The entire passage is lifted from the online Holocaust Encyclopedia. Scan Vayner's book for yourself here. See the identical passage here.
(UPDATE: Vayner has removed his book from Lulu.com. Real classy.)
So let's get this straight: Vayner created a fake charity. He named himself CEO of a non-existent investment firm. And he plagiarized a book on the Holocaust.
Forget Rahmatullah Hashemi. Why is Aleksey Vayner at Yale University?!

Another Errant Yalie
The folks at IvyGate have discovered a few more salacious bits about this Aleksey Vayner fellow. They include a Holocaust book he didn’t write, an investment firm over which he never presided, and a charity he never created. Yet he’s…
October 9th, 2006 at 12:06 pm
How much does this guy remind me of the movie “Catch Me If You Can”? The obvious difference though is that Leo D. plays a guy who’s a baller, this guy just sucks.

Today In Aleksey Vayner: He’s Very Popular!
The Aleksey Vayner story continued to erupt today, splattering its hot flow all over the internets and even onto a real, inky fingers newspaper. Here’s a quick rundown of all the latest news on Aleksey Vayner. • Under the name…
October 9th, 2006 at 12:47 pm
This is on “FoxNews” right now. They think he posted it on youtube. You need to contact them with the cease and desist letter. Completely out this guy. They think he is an innovator!
October 9th, 2006 at 12:47 pm
Wow, just wow. He threatens legal action, the heroes at Ivygate slam him right back. You guys are the best.
At what point is the stuff he posted public domain? The pictures on his modeling site are put there for the purpose of being public, right? Does the same hold for the video? It’s not like it was on some password protected server. Someone out there knows the answer to this.
October 9th, 2006 at 1:49 pm
This guy is so funny. I play tennis to quite a high standard and after watching his video I can say one thing for sure. This guy has not played on the Satellite Tour… and if he has, his match(es) must have been over very quickly.
October 9th, 2006 at 2:04 pm
Hmm, I wonder if he lied a bit on his Yale app? Nah, that would probably be completely out of character and amoral for Aleksey. No one should look into that at Yale, I’m sure all the claims he made that got him into the school were completely on the up-and-up.
October 9th, 2006 at 2:15 pm
Please, don’t stop there. I must learn more of this Aleksey Vayner fellow. He has filled my heart with so much joy that I’m just giddy thinking about it.
October 9th, 2006 at 2:17 pm
This isn’t ALL that Aleksey likes to plagiarize. Check out the first result from “Cease and Desist Letter” on Google … sound familiar?
http://www.utsystem.edu/OGC/INTELLECTUALPROPERTY/contract/cease.htm
October 9th, 2006 at 3:42 pm
Haha oh my god, the sample letter was probably the one he used, “very truly yours”, hahaha
October 9th, 2006 at 3:51 pm
Oh my sweet Lord…He copied the “cease and desist” too?!? What the hell!.. Someone must have not hugged him enough as a child. Or maybe hugged too much?
October 9th, 2006 at 4:32 pm
Sounds like a typical Yalie, but still, all I can say is: Damn! No wonder they kicked him out of Uzbhekistan.
October 9th, 2006 at 4:45 pm
From the description of his “book”: “After analyzing several HUNDRED texts on this subject and at least as many interviews, PRESENTED HERE ARE A SELECT FEW that best convey and develop my underlying perspective.” ….because all it really takes to write a book these days is the ability to copy and paste the works of people who have actually written what you’d like to take credit for….BTW the link is still up at http://www.lulu.com/alekseyvayner
October 9th, 2006 at 5:00 pm
his whole empire must be crumbling. all of the websites linke are disappearing fast! the LLC is gone and also his charity just vanished!
October 9th, 2006 at 6:06 pm
But you have to admit, he does have a sexy bod.
October 9th, 2006 at 6:14 pm
I played for Yale tennis, and he tried to walk on the team. He got cut the second day. I had one conversation with him, and he claimed to have KILLED 24 people in the caves of Tibet. Claims they were “fight to the death” tournaments. He is a pathological liar, and he is sick. He needs to seek help.
October 9th, 2006 at 6:15 pm
I too played for Yale tennis, and Vayner/Garber claimed that he has trouble flying on planes because he has to register his hands as lethal weapons each time he goes to an airport.
October 9th, 2006 at 6:28 pm
So how many people does a guy have to kill in the caves of Tibet to get into to Yale?
October 9th, 2006 at 6:55 pm
When I was at the Yale Multicultural Open House, I made jokes to every “student recrtuiment coordinator” who said they had jobs I-banking (a lot) about video resumes. Much to my dismay, none caught the reference.
October 9th, 2006 at 7:45 pm
Want to hear more about this guy? Go to http://www.yale.edu/rumpus and check the archives for the May 2002 issue… on pages 12-13 it has an article about this guy BEFORE HE EVEN ENROLLED AT YALE. He came to visit at Yale’s 2nd look weekend and made such a ridiculous ass of himself that the campus tabloid published an article about him. Note that he has a different name in the article — I have heard it suggested (though not confirmed) that he dropped his original last name to escape the reputation stemming from this article.
October 9th, 2006 at 8:01 pm
The giveaway on the investment firm was that he said his firm specialized in “risk-aDverse” strategies.
The other giveaway was that he’s fucking crazy.
October 9th, 2006 at 8:04 pm
I have known alaksey well, for the past 3 years. He has administered accupuncture “treatment” on many of my friends / teammates. His claims are absolutely ridiculous. He has claimed to be the bodyguard to the dalai lama.
October 9th, 2006 at 8:06 pm
THIS IS THE LETTER VAYNER SENT OUT TO “PATIENTS” BEFORE “TREATING THEM”
Thank you for recommending your injured teammates to see me. I am very
happy to use eastern medicine to facilitate quicker recoveries from
injury. As I?ve been bombarded with questions and requests for
sessions, few things came up that I want to clarify. While massages and
preventative sessions are pretty straight-forward, injuries (especially
serious or chronic ones) require specific attention ahead of time so
that none of us waste our time. The following information can be used
as reference or forwarded to whom you logistically see fit.
1)Certification and Liability:
I am not certified in any Western sense of the word, neither in Chinese
medicine, Tui-Na, Shaolin trauma medicine, nor in acupuncture, all of
which I practice extensively never-the-less. By means of scheduling
time to see me for a massage or injury-related treatment the
student-athlete relieves me of any and all liability, malpractice or
any other bs that one can possibly sue someone else for in US.
2)Qualifications:
My training in Chinese medicine, Shaolin medicine, Zhen Gui Tui Na and
acupuncture began, and are rooted in martial arts training. As a
lineage disciple of a Tibetan Buddhist Sect under the homage of the
Dalai Lama, I began training daily at the age of 4. Over the last 17
years I became a grandmaster in two martial arts styles and an 8th dan
black belt in a third. In December ?05 I finished 6th in the world
martial arts championships, where one?s skill in eastern medicine is
heavily tested. In terms of medical skill, closed martial lineages
believe that you are only as good a fighter as you are a healer, and
are a worthless fighter if you can?t fix the injuries you inflict. In
United States I have audited a year of medical school at Columbia
University as a senior in high school. My other exposure to western
medicine is through my brother who is the head of pediatrics at
Columbian Presbyterian hospital in NYC.
I?ve apprenticed under Dr. Yeshi Dhonden (personal physician of the
Dalai Lama), Dr. Fu Zhang (voted best Chinese herbalist in NY state
last 3 years), and Dr. Tom Bisio, who is a world-renown martial arts
champion (undefeated for many years in several styles) and is my direct
master. I specialize in problems of muscular-skeletal nature- that
includes over-training, muscle tightness/spasms, inflammations, torn
muscles/tendons/cartilages, dislocated/miss-aligned joints,
bulging/prolapsed/dislocated/torn disks, and of course bone-setting.
3)?Can You Treat Me?? I hear this few times per day. Read and
qualify the person you would like me to treat:
1. I will not treat a smoker.
2. I can see a person for few minutes to outline course of action; if I
can?t help them recover from an injury I will say so right away;
there are cases I can?t treat.
3. If the person is late more than once, I?ll not treat them again.
Please understand that I am busy, and respect my time.
4. I reserve the right reject absolutely anyone; I am usually too busy
to treat everyone, so I must prioritize.
5. Accept this = A person being treated must understand that they are
responsible for their recovery, not I. Recovery from an injury takes
time, and will require multiple sessions. Is the person really serious
about getting healthy quickly and will do anything it takes to get
better? If I am working with someone (especially seriously injured), I
expect them to do EVERYTHING I tell them to do, not just the things
they like. Over the course of treatment these requests are very likely
to include no training on the day of the session, not doing the type of
training they are doing now, minimizing alcohol consumption,
taking/drinking certain herbal formulas, doing herbal
soaks/compresses/bandages on an injured area, doing specific internal
martial arts forms designed to increase energy and facilitate healing,
doing exercises I provide, staying really warm, dry and hydrated all
the time, writing a diary of how exactly the injury occurred as well as
all the training, daily food and water intake. IF the injured person
cannot commit to doing this, they really should not bother coming to
see me.
3)Why do I treat when I am swamped with work?
It is quite a trick to treat people when I am taking 9 classes and
running a business, no question about it. Upon returning from world
martial arts championships in China this passed December I retired from
professional martial arts. I needed a new world-level project, and I
decided to become one of the best in the world in treating
muscular-skeletal adjustments with eastern medicine; for this, I need
regular practice and clientele.
4)Where/How Much/When?
I treat at my apartment at 175 Park Street #3A. Walk up Chapell street
and turn left on Park as if going towards Vivas bar. My place is the
first residential building on your left-hand side. I treat here because
the location is impeccably clean, has a massage table and all the
liniments and herbal formulas that I may need.
Each session for Undergraduate Yale Athletes Only is $50 dollars, which
lasts on average of 1 hour and 20/30 minutes. In perspective, to set up
an appointment with me in NYC acupuncture office costs $150 per hour
flat.
Unless it?s a fresh devastating injury (which you can call me with
24/7 and I?ll treat right away), I need at least a 5 day advanced
notice for all sessions.
Have a nice day.
October 9th, 2006 at 8:07 pm
Could someone sue him for this absurd “medical practice” he ran???
October 9th, 2006 at 8:29 pm
This guy is a GENIUS. I can’t imagine everything he says is a lie. Typically people just grossly inflate things. I wonder if any of these martial artists ever met him? He’s obviously crazy and has made up a lot of things. The big question is, what if anything he says is true? It all can’t be a lie can it?
October 9th, 2006 at 8:35 pm
On his charity website, he’s actively solicitating donations which are sent via PayPal to – aleksey.vayner@gmail.com
See – http://www.empowerachild.org/web/DonateForm.php
And he has the 4-star Charity Navigator which it isn’t. Not listed on the Charity Navigator site and someone from there claims they’ve tried to get him to remove it.
October 9th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
I’d just like to say that Mr. Vayner is not representative of most Yalies.
October 9th, 2006 at 9:46 pm
RE: the link b/w Aleksey Garber and Aleksey Vayner – if you check the “Contact Us” link of his charity site, you’ll see that the YES Director is none other than Tamara GARBER.

I think this guy is yale material through and through.

as someone far wiser than me (and definitely far mare sane than he) once said: you can fool some of the people some of the time but you cant fool all of the people all of the time. after being subjected to this guy’s bombastic egotism for two years of college, i take great joy in saying: welcome to reality – sucks for you
October 10th, 2006 at 1:11 am
finally! recognition! i have taken a few classes with him – he does not show up and then asks for notes. he cheats on ALL of his papers. he is not representative of yale. he’s also overly aggressive with women – must be all of those growth hormones.

Does anyone know where this guy is these days?
October 10th, 2006 at 7:30 am
This loser’s facebook profile has him dating a girl who just graduated high school. Gotta feel sorry for that girl. I’m so embarrassed this kid went to Yale, he’s not a reflection of other people who went there.
October 10th, 2006 at 7:35 am
my favorite vayner line yet: “Daniella Berman ‘07, who knows Vayner through the Yale Ballroom Dance Team, said she has heard “outlandish” stories about Vayner both from him and from other students. Among the claims she said she has heard is one that Vayner is one of four people in the state of Connecticut qualified to handle nuclear waste.”
October 10th, 2006 at 10:16 am
Did anyone else notice that you don’t see him in the frame of the video when he breaks the bricks? There are multiple cuts in that sequence. Suspicious, no?

Surely the incredible amount of effort it took to build this massive, internet-supported empire of lies could have been better channelled into ACTUAL charity efforts? Or even into not failing out of a semester at Yale? I really hope someone makes a movie out of this guy.
October 10th, 2006 at 10:40 am
Even the title of his video (”Impossible is Nothing”) comes from a very prominent ad campaign that Adidas basketball ran in 2004 and 2005 with the same exact title.
October 10th, 2006 at 11:35 am
Is anyone else really tempted to start emailing that copyright violation letter to random people?
And yeah, this guy is clearly narcissistic.
October 10th, 2006 at 12:34 pm
I saw this guy about a month ago walking down Park st. with a high school-aged girl. Maybe that was his girlfriend.
October 10th, 2006 at 1:02 pm
…Uh… If I may say. He may be the one to have the last laugh in this saga. The best Internet story in many a year.
October 10th, 2006 at 1:31 pm
I just finished a book on L. Ron Hubbard, which described a lot of the same behaviour — pathological self-aggrandizement, attempts to bilk people out of money, a complete lack of subtlety and so on. I only wonder if Hubbard would have been quashed early if the Interweb had existed back in the day.

I feel so bad for him, actually. He’s not a mean guy. I feel like all of his friends at Yale know he’s fake but he does provide some sort of amusement. I just hate how some people eat up his shit in front of him. That’s how it’s gone on as long as it has. You just humor him. Kind of how you humor a lot of other people anyway.
October 10th, 2006 at 2:31 pm
shouldn’t his language skills include about 3 other asian languages? or at least the language the buddhist monks speak?
October 10th, 2006 at 3:05 pm
for all you football fans. T.O. may have found his only equal. This guy is has issues as does T.O. This will not end well.
October 10th, 2006 at 3:29 pm
I kind of felt bad for him too but the fake charity and fake book about the Holocaust really are just gratuitously nasty. Oh well.
October 10th, 2006 at 3:30 pm
I had contemplating applying to Yale many years ago but after knowing this clown was accepted wouldn’t consider it today. I have no doubt that he has completely scorned numerous people’s perception of an otherwise respectable school, including some pretty influential HR recruiters. This guy has eroded enough of Yale’s reputation that whoever is responsible for admitting him should be canned just as quickly as Aleksey’s numerous Internet accomplishments (specifically Vayner Capital) have been pulled from the web – at least Amaranth went down in a blaze of glory.
I’ve read this Tool’s Alpha paper and notwithstanding the plagiarized portions he’s such an idiot I couldn’t make it further than page 3….and his supposed skills on his resume – wtf! Equity risk premium – uh huh and …risk modelling and analysis…yup I’m listening, want to be a little more specific or is that something you read in your intro to finance text book – financial modeling, must have gained that during all those years working as an analyst in an I-bank. F#$k a monkey can analyze financial statements.
What the $#% is projecting a due diligence reports – The report is what it is idiot; I’m sure you meant analyzing though. I suspect one call to One Source will reveal yet another fictional entry to your resume….I’m not entirely sure it is even called a resume, which most dictionaries define as “a brief written account of personal, educational, and professional qualifications and experience”. I’m sure you have your own dictionary though. Very peculiar series of jobs too…a loan officer to a secretary (sorry EA) to a risk analyst (at the same time as being an EA at that!). Maybe you actually did work for the The Atlantic Philanthropies as it would be giving you too much credit to analyze their easily obtainable public information on fund size and staff (although oddly no position is listed for USA CIO…hmmm). Besides your motivation to plagiarize Alpha return papers had to start somewhere – we know you wouldn’t have understood the separation of Beta from Alpha without a long and painful lesson from a very patient investment individual (the type normally found managing philanthropic funds).
Aleksey you’re marginally smarter than chimpanzee but in any intelligence related feat I’d still take my 10 year old sister over you any day of the week.
October 10th, 2006 at 3:34 pm
Has anyone tried contacting Nansi, his ballroom dancing partner (in the video at least), for comments? team.vice.president@nyuballroom.com
October 10th, 2006 at 3:36 pm
He’s Yale material alright, I wonder if the administration will take any actions
October 10th, 2006 at 3:46 pm
Bizarre.
It’s as if this guy got hold of a manual on “How To Pick Up Women and Impress Men” and followed it step-by-step.
Everything seems too chick-friendly and calculated: his martial arts skills, tennis prowess, dancing abilities, starting a children’s charity, publishing a “gendered study” on the Holocaust. This guy is a woman’s dream! I mean, how much more PC can you get? It’s as if he’s created this whole persona just to get laid.
I love pussy just as much as the next guy, but I sure as hell don’t have to lie to get some.
October 10th, 2006 at 3:46 pm
Even odder than his fake book, charity, medical practice and resume are the people on this blog who feel sorry for him.
October 10th, 2006 at 4:02 pm
I don’t understand the big deal. Everyone I meet from Yale is like this.

People like him are dangerous because they trick other people by TELLING THEM WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR. It is people like him who fooled others to go to war and killed millions because of their creed; does Second World War ring a bell to anyone. Wake up and realise this is no joke!!! He could have hurt someone by pretending to be a physician. This man should be brought before a Court of Law and punished for his crimes.
He is a disgrace!

Makes you wonder if there are some mental illness issues here. Schizophrenia tends to kick in for guys in their late 20’s, right?
October 10th, 2006 at 5:59 pm
If it wasnt for the video that created so much laughter down in Wallstreet, his lies in his resume would have fooled a bunch and gotten him an offer in every bank.
October 10th, 2006 at 6:38 pm
I don’t think this kind of behavior is typical for schizophrenics.
October 10th, 2006 at 6:41 pm
I emailed Yale’s admission committee and encouraged them to do some minimal amount of due dilligence on his college application. I would be shocked if he did not copiously lie, and that warrants expulsion from Yale. Let’s see what kind of school Yale is (I actually got admitted to Yale as an undergrad and passed – so let’s see if they prove me right).
October 10th, 2006 at 6:55 pm
Here is another creep from Uzbekhistan:
http://iamfacingforeclosure.com/
What is it about that country? Are they all born scam artists?
October 10th, 2006 at 7:11 pm
I’d sign a petition boycotting any Yale based hiring until they did something about this clown. To convey a degree to him after all of his dishonest, criminal and downright stupid transgressions would be a disgrace and a slap to every legitimate university graduate, from Yale or otherwise. Next to his criminal activities (e.g. soliciting donations to an unregistered an illegitimate charity and establishing an unregistered investment fund seeking third party commitments) plagiarism and academic dishonesty is the worst infraction a student can commit, and should result in expulsion from any legitimate educational institution. If the SEC and IRS weren’t so busy clamping down on people with actual intelligence I’d love to see them nail his ass.
Who is pathetic enough to feel sorry for this idiot? He’s clearly been put on notice before after a hilarious article written by an author of the Yale student paper about Aleksey’s fabrications during his Yale campus tour. He knew that that people could figure out he was full of $hit and had plenty of F’ing time to move into the real world. Not much to feel sorry about, unless he really is f’ing nuts – if that’s the case could someone please get him some medication
October 10th, 2006 at 7:32 pm
what’s with these Uzbeks constantly lying…
http://harpers.org/sb-boratology-1159910621.html
Borat called a press conference outside the Kazakh embassy in Washington, where he denounced Kazakhstan’s new multimillion-dollar “Heart of Eurasia” advertising campaign (which, ironically, was intended to counter Borat’s characterization of the country) as a vicious “propaganda campaign” undertaken by the “evil nitwits” of Uzbekistan.
Borat attacked Kazakhstan’s central Asian neighbor for spreading “disgusting fabrications” that Kazakhstan treats its women equally and tolerates all religions. “If there is one more item of Uzbek propaganda,” Borat said, “claiming that we do not drink fermented horse urine, give death penalty for baking bagels, or export over 300 tonnes of human pubis per year, then we will be left with no alternative but to commence bombardment of their cities with our catapults.”
October 10th, 2006 at 7:34 pm
I think that this mob mentality style bashing is disgusting. I am no longer applying to the business world.
Lies or not. This kind of behavior in both Aleksey Vayner and the places that are forwarding his application around is disgusting. I find those bashing him are just as bad as he is. Get a life.
October 10th, 2006 at 8:00 pm
If you want to avoid public humiliation, then simply avoid massive-scale falsification of your life. Tell the fucking truth and respect your fellow students who actually earn their credentials. I refuse to feel bad for this guy.
October 10th, 2006 at 9:04 pm
so last year, one of my fellow athletes contacted one of aleksey’s “grandmasters” who told him that he didn’t know what that term meant at all. And that he’d seen aleksey a couple times, but in no way had taught him enough to be practicing on his own. He told him not to let aleksey treat his knee.
October 10th, 2006 at 9:07 pm
also, on the model mayhem site is his gf. but I don’t think the pics are of her. at least not all of them.
October 10th, 2006 at 9:16 pm
http://www.modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=60162
that’s his girlfriend. though half of the pics are of her. note some of them have bellybutton rings and some do not… as well as a clear difference in body composition and height in other photos.
October 10th, 2006 at 9:22 pm
I’ve met Aleskey personally. He used to be after one of my friends. He’s actually not a bad guy in person, he was nice to me and all but I’ve never talked to him long enough for him to really go into his “past” and all. I’ve also seen his girlfriend at the dining halls and on the street once…all I can say is that she must be very, very, very, very, very, very photogenic…
October 10th, 2006 at 9:22 pm
i am almost positive that he made the profile and not her.
October 10th, 2006 at 9:34 pm
Well the story is now doing the rounds of the law firms in Australia … this guy sure know how to make an impact! We haven’t stopped laughing!
October 10th, 2006 at 9:45 pm
Too much hype on ivygateblog’ part. Get a life, start discussing something worthwile!
October 11th, 2006 at 12:07 am
You can still find his book’s description here along with the following description (which I’m certain Mr. Vayner must of have written himself).
BTW, no one has commented on the fact that his the fittingness of his name. What a dick. Can Yale ungive diplomas? If they can, I think they ought to consider it in this case.
October 11th, 2006 at 1:17 am
How dare you people point an accusatory finger at poor Aleksey. How dare you call him a liar and a fake. This man has accomplished so much, from murdering numerous Tibetans to handling Connecticut’s nuclear waste, and you people have the nerve to call him a fraud. This man helps starving immigrant children and can lift 495 lbs, can you? No, you can’t. This man can break six bricks at a time and handle all your investment options. In fact, I hesitate to even call him a man because where I come from he is a god. This Renaissance man/god is an amatuer ballroom dancer, an amatuer tennis instructor, a model and a renowned holocaust historian. You people should be ashamed of yourself.
October 11th, 2006 at 3:01 am
To Ivygate, Please publish the names of the people at those top-class investment firms who forwarded Mr. Vayner’s info to you and start a slander campaign against them. They deserve it just as much as he does. Who’s with me?
October 11th, 2006 at 3:05 am
Probably not schizophrenic. Almost certainly Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD). See http://www.halcyon.com/jmashmun/npd/dsm-iv.html, which lists the first couple of diagnostic criteria (from DSM-IV) as:
1. An exaggerated sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements).
2. Preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.
You get the picture. This guy is a textbook case of NPD.
The giveaway is the absurdity of the lies. I knew one person like this, and he also would routinely say similar absurdities, like that he had lunch with the Dalai Lama last week or had to leave class early to go to a board meeting of the international charity and orphanage he started.
October 11th, 2006 at 3:10 am
“Risk aDverse investment strategies” I’m in Australia and this is now doing the rounds. This guy is a bloody STAR!!!!.
And btw Jive Turkey, you are right on the money, a fucking monkey could analyse financial statements, even my 18 year old brother in first year could do it. DEFINITELY NOT a skill you would put on a resume.
October 11th, 2006 at 3:29 am
Btw, in response to dc’s post regarding his sister being a “tycoon in the making” may I suggest somebody, whilst at an inernet cafe perhaps, submit young Aleksey as a candidate for an “up and coming millionaire”?. I suggest the following answers,
Occupation: Renaissance man
Income: Astronomical
Savings/Investments: As above
Lets get this guy on CNN money.
I mean, he has his own “Capital management firm”, Charity, Published book, Professional Athletic achievements AND he’s in the Society of competitive Intelligence Professionals.
October 11th, 2006 at 3:56 am
No, no, no! I’ve just read about this in the Metro London paper and the video has been removed from YouTube. My day is destroyed! Are there any other known links to veiw it? Evil, I know, but need a good giggle.
October 11th, 2006 at 3:58 am
Reading about this bag of douche has been the most fun I’ve had in a long time! Which says something about my boring existence. I think I might take a note or two from Mr. Vayner/Garber just to spice things up a little.
October 11th, 2006 at 5:25 am
video is available on http://www.metro.co.uk.
October 11th, 2006 at 5:53 am
how many of the comments defending poor alex on teh various blogs reporting this are actually the man himself? its like where’s waldo. only more so.

This guy is a genius. We should declare a national holiday, Vayner Day, where everyone has to talk complete nonsense to each friends, colleagues and countrymen.
Speaking for myself I lost 3 toes to a clusterbomb in ‘Nam but I’m so flexible that I can still stretch and touch them.
October 11th, 2006 at 6:43 am
There are people like him all over the place – I sit next to one called Brent. We should try to help them
October 11th, 2006 at 6:55 am
complete liar with no grasp of reality.could be a dealer
October 11th, 2006 at 7:05 am
Just read about his guy in the UK on the Metro site. will be showing my trainee journalists all about it. Interesting he wears a TKD suit and then performs a shaolin salute. I want to be him when I grow up.
October 11th, 2006 at 7:05 am
This guy is a complete fucking joke. I was too considering applying to Yale but in actuality more than 75% of the people I meet from there are complete arrogant, conning assholes and if this dipshit can get admitted than it’s obviously not the Yale it use to be.
October 11th, 2006 at 7:17 am
This guy has delusions of grandeur. He must be very, very sad to feel that he has to impress people with such extraordinary lies.
October 11th, 2006 at 7:20 am
He smacks of L. Ron Hubbard. Let’s hope he doesn’t start a cult.

amazing how quickly things can get around these days. am in london and also read about this guy in the metro this morning – crazy stuff. he must have some level of intelligence/madness to make up all the stuff he’s come up with, and become (in)famous overnight!
October 11th, 2006 at 8:44 am
I can’t understand what all the fuss is about. This guy just typlifies what is going on in governments and society across the world today. The bigger the lies the more people lap it up – look at the lies the USA and UK government have told us – yet no one redicules them, even though they deserve it. He deserves to be on Wall St with the other liars, theives and con-men, he would be right at home!
October 11th, 2006 at 9:52 am
This is a pretty nerdy reference, but is there any possibility that this tool might actually be KAHN?
October 11th, 2006 at 9:59 am
Well just another funny thing, I could hardly believe it myself. I put in Vaynercapital to google and found the website shut down. Google cache, we salute you… At the bottom was a link to Modelmayhem.com, again he’s removed it but Google has it:

I did Karate for 8 years, I can’t remember anybody in my martial art ever ironing their suit trousers with a crease down the middle. I think you’d get your a***e kicked if you did that!
October 11th, 2006 at 11:06 am
I think this guy should leave the country and go into the european porn business, he looks just like Rocco Siffredi!!!
October 11th, 2006 at 11:18 am
The guy lied about everything… almost. He should have lied about his name too. Because he’s never going to be able to use it again.
October 11th, 2006 at 11:51 am
For the record, I am Director of the real “Youth Empowerment Strategies, Inc.”
Apparently, Mr. Vayner pirated our corporate identity as a front for his fake charitable organization and we hope that his mountain of lies gets him exactly what he deserves. Also, thank you to IvyGate for posting that there is in fact, a real YES and for posting our link http://www.YESpress.org.
October 11th, 2006 at 11:54 am
Will someone please arrest him, or deport him
October 11th, 2006 at 12:07 pm
I just saw that vid…..what a tool!

This is the best!!!!!!. ………..
“Want to hear more about this guy? Go to http://www.yale.edu/rumpus and check the archives for the May 2002 issue… on pages 12-13 it has an article about this guy BEFORE HE EVEN ENROLLED AT YALE. He came to visit at Yale’s 2nd look weekend and made such a ridiculous ass of himself that the campus tabloid published an article about him. Note that he has a different name in the article — I have heard it suggested (though not confirmed) that he dropped his original last name to escape the reputation stemming from this article.

IvyGate: if you need money to organize a potential legal defense, please use these pages to solicit donations. I will absolutely contribute to your cause. Your attitude has been professional throughout, and exposing a fradulent individual as Aleksey based on public information is what the freedom of speech is all about.
October 11th, 2006 at 12:37 pm
Had a look at the cached version of model mayhem. Read the last comment from ‘JS2D Design’(a real predator by the look and sound of it), “Great Physique – would be into photographing you sometime” If Aleksey has to run and hide it looks like a career in gay porn beckons!.
October 11th, 2006 at 12:48 pm
What I wouldn’t give to see the essay that he (supposedly) wrote to get into Yale.

I’ve visited Yale before and seen the class rooms. There is no way this guy could fit has inflated head into any one of Yale’s buildings so it’s not clear to me how he attended classes

I guess he copied that as well.

I’d just like to say a big thanks from all your cousins over here in the UK, Yale’s most amusing graduate has been the talk of the trading floors and banks in the City all day. This man is a maniac and needs to told he is. On the other hand, i am sure i could get him a job on my trading floor as a jester – he’d keep us amused all day. I especially love the bit about him being only one of four qualified to handle nuclear waste – reminded me of Austin Power’s when Dr Evil does the “he made outrageous claims like he invented, the question mark” genius.
On a more pressing note, you really should be concerned that this guy and Dubbya our your most famous alumni at the moment – not a great advert.
October 11th, 2006 at 6:09 pm
The best part about Vayner making all this stuff up is that now people are helping him make up even better stuff. From the “Vayner is Chuck Norris in Disguise” group on Facebook:
Aleksey Vayner is the only man to ever defeat a brick wall in a game of tennis.
It takes Aleksey Vayner 20 minutes to watch 60 Minutes.
When Aleksey Vayner does a pushup, he isn’t lifting himself up, he’s pushing the Earth down.
Ironically, Aleksey Vayner’ hidden talent is invisibility.
Aleksey Vayner doesn’t read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.
October 11th, 2006 at 6:20 pm
This is brilliant stuff! I reckon that, on balance, this guy is more likely to be real than not. His accent — has anyone noticed? — betrays the traces of a Russian-speaker: pronouncing the ‘n’ as ‘nj’, and forgetting to put ‘the’ before ‘UBS work ethic’ in his cover letter. These are typical errors made by a Russian speaker of English. Moreover, Aleksey dances the rumba and cha-cha rather well, which indicates that our pathetic friend may really have come from the ex-Soviet bloc, where ballroom dancing is rather popular.
Isn’t it grossly ironic that is was the poor bastard’ self-adulating hymn to success which brought him down in the end? Lucky that he blew his chances before he got his hands on the dosh in an investment bank. His pitiful narcissism makes him the well-deserved butt of Yalie jokes…
October 11th, 2006 at 6:35 pm
Me – I miss Aleksey. He’s a fine man, a brilliant lover, and a great humanitarian. The true Aleksey he abashedly keeps hidden from the world.
Why, when we were on the International Space Station together, he singlehandedly saved the crew complement by reconfiguring his respiratory system at the genetic level.
He proceeded to inhale carbon dioxide, and exhale pure fresh oxygen. Saving the lot of us. All while smiling. By the end of that mission, he was a member of the 300 Mile High Club many times over, I can tell you.
It’s not all ballroom dance with Aleksey.
Oh, and he want he really wants to do is direct.
October 11th, 2006 at 6:43 pm
btw, the slogan “impossible is nothing” is stolen from an Adidas ad campaign.

This shit has truly, truly, made my day!
October 11th, 2006 at 6:45 pm
I’m going to officially retire from CTU, and appoint Aleksey Vayner as my replacement. His resume is impeccable from killing 24 people in a Tibetan cave to handling nuclear waste. Moreover, he is a true Uzbekistani-American Badass with a heart of gold.
October 11th, 2006 at 6:51 pm
I want to hear from him…Vayner…when you read this…(cuz you all know that if he has not killed himself yet, he is reading every bit of this) whats up?…are you going to defend yourself? What do you have to say about all this?…Are the claims of what you have said true? Have you ever stated these things? Speak up man!! Tell us your side. We want proof that you are not a liar (so we all have a few more laughs when whatever he copy/pasts to “prove” his honesty is torn apart by anyone with an IQ of more than 65) tell us anything…DONT LET THIS DIE!! make another video, show us how you can fix Danielsans knee, show us were to invest our money…TEACH US HOW TO SUCCEDE!!!
October 11th, 2006 at 6:56 pm
Nah…nevermind….just kill yourself, that headline will be enough to keep us all laughing for a few days…”Scumbag liar’s bullshit life exposed on internet…uses ancient technique learned in Rangoon to drop 495lbs on own chest to end pathetic life!!” (will I feel bad if he does kill himself?? yes…most likly…no wait…nah…I wont, fuck him)
October 11th, 2006 at 7:06 pm
I will crush you all!!!! I am going to dance all over your faces!!
I am going to bench press you into next week!!
I am going to use powers taught to me by Mohammed and Moses and known only to me and 3 other people in Conneticut to beat you up..!
I am going to stack your cars ontop of each other and throw poopy at you!!
And I am going to have an office one day and PROUDLY DISPLAY A YALE DIPLOMA ON THE FRIGGIN WALL BEHIND MY DESK!!
October 11th, 2006 at 7:29 pm
“To Ivygate, Please publish the names of the people at those top-class investment firms who forwarded Mr. Vayner’s info to you and start a slander campaign against them. They deserve it just as much as he does. Who’s with me?”
this sounds like Aleksey trying to get his hands on the names of the people who ruined his life…
October 11th, 2006 at 8:17 pm
I dont know if anyone noticed this from the video, but everything he did was completely unimpressive. the karate part was fake, it didnt show his face… the bricks were obviously pre-broken. He didnt look like a very good ballroom dancer or tennis player… during the dance session the girl is far more impressive… while weightlifting he has 3 spotters that never take their hands off of the bar, they were probably all equally sharing that weight. I think this guy should get his own series, I want more.
October 11th, 2006 at 8:47 pm
I met Alex (Aleksey) whilst I was at Yale. He claimed (after watching/living Sixth Sense) that he could see, and ,occasionally, communicate with the dead. He told me a story about being taken on a tour of some really old town hall somewhere by the mayor of this specific town. He claims that the mayor was amazed when he looked up a specific stairwell and stated that someone in the past had been executed here by hanging. Apparently, according to mayor X this was exactly right. Wow! What a guy!
October 11th, 2006 at 9:30 pm
For a pathological liar with a personality disorder, Aleksey’s pretty harsh on smokers. Cigarettes are unhealthy and everything, but unlikely to destroy your fake modeling career or impeed the success of your fake non-Western healing techniques.
October 12th, 2006 at 6:08 am
Nobody here thinks this whole thing is one big practical joke? This is the internet after all. You can’t trust anything you see here…
October 12th, 2006 at 6:27 am
In fairness to this poor bloke, it is getting quite tough these days for even high calibre graduates to get a decent job.
Working in London in Operations, I recently got forced (nominated) to assess graduates at an assessment centre in my company.
Most graduates were from the top Universities like Oxford and Cambridge. There is huge expectations from graduates at experience and academic levels to the degree that I used to only dream about (Personally, I don’t think I would get a job in my own company if I was to apply now!!). I found that alot of applicants are under so much pressure that they would be willing to do anything to differentiate themselves. I truly empathize for this poor chap.
However, there is never an excuse for lies in either a CV or application as may be the case with Aleksey.
October 12th, 2006 at 7:41 am
What the hell is a CV?
October 12th, 2006 at 7:57 am
I met Alexey at Harvard University in 1979. But while the technology has changed, he hasn’t changed 1 percent.
October 12th, 2006 at 8:21 am
Would you believe, he’s popped up on myspace at http://www.myspace.com/alekseyvayner
What a surprise!
October 12th, 2006 at 8:45 am
CV = Curriculum Vitae. For USA people, it is the same as your Resumé.
October 12th, 2006 at 9:22 am
Don’t tell me no one understood this guy is not insane but just, and cleverly, having fun! His stuff is very obviously fake, a joke!!!!
(4) a mix of (2) and (3).
This guy is a true joke-master.
Look: we do not see his face when he lifts weights, when he dances, he is as graceful as an elephant, when he plays tennis you never see what happens to his balls, he just hangs out, running on the court and trying to look like a real tennis player, when he skies, you don’t see his face, his NFP web-site is empty, his investment fund does not exist, his book is a plagia…
So there are various options: (1) he is genuinely trying to get into the investment bank industry, but i seriously doubt,
(2) he wanted to have fun and to see how far would his masterpiece go, fooling people in Wall Street, and then outside of NYC, and then Europe, and then who knows,
(3) he wants to be a celebrity, and he is becoming one!

I would probably go along with you “CV”, but for the fact that he was talking the same shït in May 2002. Surely nobody makes a 4 year long running joke of their life?
October 12th, 2006 at 10:20 am
Sorry, I mean Jean-Luc, not CV.
October 12th, 2006 at 10:33 am
Anyone who thinks Aleksey is a “true joke-master” whose intentionally unbelievable lies were concocted solely to get into the investment banking industry and/or gain celebrity (for being a brilliant prankster rather than a renaissance man) needs to explain his outlandish behavior before he even matriculated at Yale, as documented in the Yale Rumpus.

Aleksey apparently has a MySpace site http://www.myspace.com/alekseyvayner
Some of the comments are rather amusing.
October 12th, 2006 at 12:02 pm
I would like to see a celebrity death match between Aleksey Varner and Bill Brasky.
October 12th, 2006 at 1:02 pm
Sadly I just tried the myspace site and it seems it is down. The comment about ironing a crease in his karate pants killed me. But, come on! What must the other people who contributed to this nugget have thought? The ballroom dancer, for example. Oh, and by the way standing at the net and returning the ball is a lot easier that being at the baseline and actually having to hit a successful return. One last thing. Who said he can dance? By the looks of things, the 12″ dildo up his ass had a 15″” dildo up its ass. And notice that all the moves were slow. Unlike his 140mph windmill serve.
Still, I wonder how many stories he fabricated just to get into Yale. Boy, everybody’s faces must be red there. Not even the toilet cleaner would want to admit that they work where that boy studies!
October 12th, 2006 at 1:55 pm
When a link to the story and his video arrived in my inbox yesterday, I honestly thought the whole thing was a hoax. I laughed and laughed. Then it became clear to me that it was real… and I learned that it’s hard to laugh when your jaw is on the floor.
What a complete and utter tit this boy is. I’m so glad he was “outed”!
And then the doubt creeps in…this chap, surely, is mentally unwell? Delusional at the least. I get a strong sense that he believes a lot of his own lies. Shouldn’t we feel sorry for him? Isn’t he more to be pitied than laughed at?
Well, I tried. I really did. But he’s just SUCH a pompous, brainless t(w)it that I find I just can’t feel sorry for him.
Someone on here said he is a woman’s dream and knows how to get laid. I beg to differ. Any woman with at least three brain cells would be too busy laughing at him and pouring scorn on him even to CONSIDER him as an attractive proposition. Seriously.
Who was that in that ski suit? Why did the dancing segment hardly ever show his feet and legs and why did it hardly ever show a shot of more than about a second or two in length? My, but didn’t those bricks crack neatly right across the middle?
Oh – and is English supposed to be his first language? His writing is peppered with grammatical mistakes. Of course if most of his stuff is stolen from other writers, I guess that means that at least the mistakes aren’t his…
I would just LOVE to know where he’ll be and what he’ll he doing in five years’ time…

October 12th, 2006 at 7:25 pm
Just gatecrashing your comments page to say that this story is all over the papers here in the UK. How this clown ever got into Yale, God only knows.
October 12th, 2006 at 8:57 pm
What a nutter.
Did anyone ever just tell the guy to shut it & get back to planet earth? How did he get away with this rubbish for so long.
I think the testiminials from ex class mates are really funny – keep them coming. Does anyone have a story about confronting him – I’d love to hear that.
The Hoff and Mr Norris have just been overtaken as web unheroes.
October 12th, 2006 at 11:01 pm
For kicks I just went through the proccess to see if you can actually donate to his charity and it takes you to paypal where you oay aleksey.vayner@gmail.com. I thought this guy was an idiot but that’s pretty sick!!!
October 13th, 2006 at 2:09 am
I worked with a guy just like this. He’d say things like how he was a stripper before he got his current job, even though that meant he’d have been like 17 at the time and at 23 the guy looked like he was 12. He’d talk about his castle in England or how he owns a house in all 50 states and what not. Typical pathological liar type stuff.
Though the thing that always amazed me was his incredible skill at picking up women, one of the reasons we kept him around, besides just trying to see how far you could get him to go with a lie. It’s actually somewhat hard for people to tell he’s full of it when you just meet him. It takes a few hours for him to get really outlandish.
Another odd thing about him is he’ll NEVER admit to lying, even when confronted with direct evidence that he is, like how it’s impossible for him to be a sky diver for the army while also being a trained navy seal and member of the Secret Service.
October 13th, 2006 at 3:18 am
Wow I can’t believe this guy from marketwatch actually believes that Aleksey is smart enough to have concocted this entire thing as a “think outside of the box” effort. To give this loser any credit at all is just sad and to believe that his ideas are oh so deep and profound for his age is a joke. Vayner’s world is one full of lies and ideas stolen from others. He is nothing more than a disgusting narcissistic individual who disgraces anyone stupid or unfortunate enough to be associated with him. Garbage like this should never ever be rewarded or praised and to do so is to encourage others to act this way and to believe that this is the way our society should be.

Word has reached Italy! (Well, OK, via a skiers’ web site).
My own theory is that perhaps he’s doing research on the organic spread of stories on the internet..
He may have a reasonable level of intelligence, but it’s difficult to tell amongst the absurdity. Bit like that other famous Yale graduate who is equally bad at spelling and grammar.
October 13th, 2006 at 10:04 am
Actually Yale has produced a number of these folks. Do some searching under stock fraud.

come on guys…there has to be someone out there with the balls and know-how to get a copy of the addmision papers…we have to keep this going….HACKERS UNITE!! someone grab his papers from yale and publish them!!!
October 13th, 2006 at 12:12 pm
Which Yalie is the administration more ashamed of, Aleksey or George W.?
October 13th, 2006 at 1:55 pm
Guys, just to let you know that via Italy, I am spreading the news in South America. Go Aleksey! He may not have ment it but he got viral and worldwide in mere 4 days!
October 13th, 2006 at 1:57 pm
Did anyone call his cell. Apparently his voicemail is full LOL. And by the way his phone number is not unlisted. Just remember what his name used to be. I left him a message thanking him for the great video. Notice how hard his spotters are straining to lift up the weights? One practically gets his pants hung on it too!
And anyone stupid enough to create a fake charity and actually put himself on the recieving end is NOT very intelligent and deserves absolutely NO leniency in my book. Lock his steal from CHILDREN a$$ up!
October 13th, 2006 at 2:08 pm
from the CBS Marketwatch column on Vayner: “Citizen Vayn also made a short run on You Tube, was taken down and put up by Ivy League blog ivygateblog.com, a site that appears to be on a mission to humiliate everyone who is connected with those elite schools. Yes, it’s a noble purpose.”
October 13th, 2006 at 4:24 pm
Not everyone at Yale is like this. Don’t make such stereotypical generalizations from one extreme case! He is kind of weird though.
October 13th, 2006 at 8:07 pm
Phrases like “kind of weird” can’t be used in a sentence about this guy. I’d say the jury is well and truely back in on both fronts on this Ning Nong Fruit Cake ie He is a full on weirdo liar….and yes of course while not everyone at Yale may be like this its enough for the entire world that he is and it’s absolutely priceless.
October 13th, 2006 at 9:03 pm
Alexei,
You silly, silly pile of dung…
ok…we’ve got you on here talking shit…now explain yourself….
explain the charity
explain the investment firm
explain the cia bit, the mafia crap, the nuke wast crap, the dead guys in the caves in tibet, the Dali Lama, teh 495lbs bench (i lift, alot you weak fuck..i watched you struggle with 140lbs bells, never actually pressing them clean, never completing a full rep…yet you want me to believe 495? I want to see it CLEAN…I’ll let you get a lift off from 1 spotter, and allow 2 spotters hands off…but I want to see the bar come down to a stationary chest with a pause…and a clean press with a lockout…when you can give us that…and make sure we see your dishonest little face…you can say you press 495….but hey if you actually measure your strength with a bench press…you are a loser…can I hear about your…
1. deadlift
2. squat
3. Clean/press
4. 3 mile run time
Im sure that all those numbers are simply amazing
(deadlift…I’ll bet he claims 6 plates, (12 total) =’s 585lbs in reality he could not pull 315 for more than 5 reps and 405 he could not get up more than 1 time
Squat (he will claim 600+ and yes.. I bet you can see him in the gym with 400+ lbs on the squat rack…doing some form of weird standing knee bend moving up and down a total of 3 inches
clean/press (forget it…he does not do them…he uses a bench press to impress people, but with that frame…. he could not get 135 up to save his life)
3 mile run…not that he would have the intestinal fortitude to complete it…but I’mm guessing a solid 25 min
oh fuck it why bother.
Shithead I know you…and men world wide know you as well…a silly little turd of a boy who knows he lacks true character, ability, and integrity, so you lie…you lie so much you believe most of the crap you sell yourself. Your real life and abilitys are nothing to rave about so you lie, you make up fantastic things, you do this to feel superior, to feel alive, when the truth is you have done nothing gone no-were, been no-one, and never will. you claim to be so strong both physically and mentally, when the truth is that when really tested, you will fail, not because you “can not” do the task at hand, but because you lack what it takes to actually strive to acheive anything, you have no heart, no passion, and no damm guts.
Even now as you sit reading this you are not taking the words to heart…you are looking for ways to slam what is written here, and above all appear to be something special, something amazing, something we mere mortals cant totally understand.
insted do this…apologize for being a shithead…blame it on a mental condition you are seaking to heal
make restitution to those you have defrauded, through your bullshit charity, healing injuries with shark piss, wild Yak spooge and whatever phony bullshit you have tried, and any of the other countless lies you have tried for personal gain
and last (this is the biggy that will really suck ass) apologize to the ones you have hurt, embarrased and disapointed.
once you have done that…go out, find a stranger….and start a conversation….talk with them for 10 min and dont say a fuckin thing about yourself…find out about them, and then…if they ask….tell them about you…and tell the complete honest truth
and when you hear how pathetic and sad the truth really is…purchase a small pistol from a local drug dealer…you should not spend more than $100, buy 1 small box of the correct ammo for the weapon (hollow points are best here, wadcutters will work well, and no need for mag rnds) load the weapon, place the buisness end against the base of your skull pointing up through your head at your forehead
pull the trigger and turn your sick mind into a fine pink mist
(if you could figure out a way to castrate yourself and completly prevent your seed from ever polluting this world in case you fuck this up…that would make alot of us feel alot safer too…thanks)

WARNING: the following diatribe is not meant to be offensive but may be politically incorrect…
====================
Speaking of narcissistic liars, it’s a good thing slick Willy earned his law degree from Yale.
Back to Aleksey. He reminds me of the trend in neo-semites from former Soviet bloc countries. They are about as Jewish as psuedo-semite John Kerry (another Yale grad). Fascinating how from the depths of their Soviet poverty these uber-sheysters finally came home to their great-great great grandfather’s religion.
What is his Aleksey’s birth name? Alexei Molotov? Vayner must be a fake name as he cannot be found in Zaba Search…but Aleksey Garber can.
Anyway, these Aleksey types seem more than eager to piggy back on the success of American Jews. They are assimilated and successful and are guilted into helping (donations, making calls, writing letters) these supposedly “oppressed” ex-Soviet neo-semites emigrate to the US (and Israel.) Reminds me of that Russian hockey player that just defected.
Coincidentally, anyone see anything in common between gushing media shrills Deutsch and Weidner…any second now, “Such chutzpah!”
How did Aleksey even get in the country. Russian Mafya? More importantly what Yale alum wrote a letter recommending this non-mensch? Make sure that guy’s future recommendations hit the circular file.
Mies Van der Rohe would be equally nauseated.
October 13th, 2006 at 10:53 pm
If you click on his model page it says he has been banned form the site.
October 15th, 2006 at 1:13 pm
In the UK, we prefer to lock these people up once they’ve sufficiently disgraced the Conservative Party, but this clown just might make it past the gubernatorial mansion. Your alumni really are special.
Although we’d be very happy if that fit lass in the dancing video became the Next President Of … Anywhere, Really.
October 15th, 2006 at 7:59 pm
Oh I don’t know, he seems kinda hot to me…
October 15th, 2006 at 8:59 pm
this is sad… the “video” resume was dedicated to Radomir, who recently died of advanced cancer, bless his soul; and to see that this sham is dedicated to his good name is just absurd and down right moronic (o by the way, i’m an alumni of Dwight School, where “Garber” went to), and if you can’t play for yale (which is one of the weakest of the ivy teams) he must REALLY suck; i know it because he played in the eastern zone AND in the same academy as i went to; guy couldn’t BUY a win, more or less play… and its sad Yale STILL can’t sort the bullshitters!!!
2 for 2, (of which the world knows) GO YALE!
October 15th, 2006 at 11:07 pm
Came across this video while browsing the internet and it just keeps getting better.
If you just heard the guy without seeing the video you would think he knows what he is talking about. It sounds more like a motivational video than a job application. Most of the stuff he talks about is common motivational stuff found in motivational books and tapes. I have not read Napoleon Hills “Think and grow rich” book in a while but does give him credit for the quote he mentions “What you can conceive and believe, you can achieve”. I think he has fabricated all this magnificent alter reality that he has now fooled himself into truly believing it which is why he can tell you this with a straight face. Were he crossed the line is in creating the fake charity and taking the money. This guy needs to be taken off the streets.
One comment on the ballroom dance section. I did ballroom in college for three years. Took lessons from real pro’s and competed inter-collegiate. I don’t know how he can claim he is a pro-amateur in international Rumba (not cha-cha like someone else mentioned in a previous blog entry). Notice he does not show the legs to see the actual dancing. Also he is not doing the correct hip movements. The only thing he is doing decent is the arm movements. The moved he picked to show on the video is a lift or stunt where the girl does all the work dancing around him and he just needs to stand there supporting her. He is not showing any standard syllabus moves where if he was a good dancer could show technique. Anyone with ballroom experience who could see him dance could tell you right away he is not what he claims. He does give credit to the right guy “Chayanne” (the guy singing the song when he is dancing).
MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch is a dumbass saying this guy is brilliant and would hire him on the spot and that all of this is planned by Vayner. Deutsch is a fucking idiot. I have to say that the only purpose of Deutsch appearing on the early seasons of “The apprentice” was to make his stupid spin of talk show which is a waste of time. Anyway got enough of that, got sidetracked there.
The scary part is that Vayner has fooled a lot a people to get where he is and if was not for the video he would not have got caught. Obviously he has fooled a lot of people to cooperate with him so he has some persuasion abilities. This is what happens when you get a guy with narcissistic tendencies access to motivational books and tapes with the desperation to reach the American dream at all costs. I am curious to see where all this ends. This guy needs psychological help to get him back to reality. He also needs to be punished for the fake charity.
October 16th, 2006 at 1:57 am
Word has arrived in Indonesia. What a tool. Well done Yale!
October 16th, 2006 at 3:04 am
I’ve been all over the internet reading about Aleksey-whatever-his-last-name-really-is for the past few hours, and at first it was funny, hilarious in fact, or so I thought…
Now, after reading so much, in so many different places, and realizing that his lies have been going on for so very long, I feel like maybe we’re making too much fun of someone who apparently cannot help himself, like an alcoholic, or a cancer victim – someone who’s terribly ill with pathological liar-titis – and it seems that many people have known for quite some time about his ever-evolving range of ridiculous claims, and done nothing to help…
But then again, if he’s already gained – or if he’s intent on future gains – from any of his outlandish fabrications… Well, other people could get hurt, if they haven’t been already…
I dunno…
Maybe someone ought to actually do something…
Is there a doctor in the house?
October 16th, 2006 at 4:03 am
Ive spent 4 hrs reading about this guy on various blogs… Help me. I cant stop. Its too damned entertaining/pathetic. Thank you, God, for bestowing upon us Aleksey Vayner/Garber. After Jesus, he is your most perfect creation (well, according to A V/G, jesus is #2).
His college app must be strewn with not just lies, but fabrications, doctored transcripts, and false recommendations to back up those lies. Can you imagine what a treasure trove of entertaining falsehoods that document must be? If only the Yale Admissions folks has a leaker like UBS had … Please, someone out there in the Admissions office, give us the info, we wants it, we wants the precious ….
October 16th, 2006 at 6:37 am
The Napolean Dynamite of university…. I’m sure Aleksey has wrestled a wolverine or two before…. show us your disco moves buddy! Gosh!
October 16th, 2006 at 8:06 am
“Aleksey Vayner is Napoleon Dynamite”.
October 16th, 2006 at 8:14 am
Sounds like Hugh Gallager’s college application, except that he was joking …

i want to kick AV’s ass. What a gd tool.
October 16th, 2006 at 6:57 pm
He reminds me of David Brent.
Also, the more I read about this guy, the more I’m starting to believe that it’s a practical joke. A very great, elaborate practical joke, but a joke nonetheless. He’s faking all this. If he was for real, he would have been put in a looney bin for being certifiable.
October 16th, 2006 at 10:21 pm
I love the liberal dumbass that uses this as another way to attack our president…this conversation has grown so old…
“why do you hate Bush?
He Lied…
About what?
Iraq…
what about Iraq?
Weapons of Mass Destruction.
He did not lie, he based decisions on the best avail inteligence we had…and by the way…we did find WMD’s…lots of them, nerve gas arty shells, mobile biowep factorys…
yea..but he lied
about what….
errr…ummm…He drank and partied in College
Did you?
err umm he cant speek dat good and says funny things, like nookyouleer
how do you do when addresing 250 million people?
err umm…Rumsfeld should resign….
Why?
Because a bunch of guys got beat up in a prison in Iraq and lots of our guys are dead and he does not do a good job…
Do you know how many of the enemy we have killed, how many captured, how many lives saved by attacks that have been stopped by the intelligence gathered? Did you know that 87.77% of servicemen and women today completly agree with our current stratagy and believe in our mission?
err…ummm Bush hates black people…he made the hurricane flood them in the south cuz he knew they couldnt swim and then let his rich freinds clean it up so they could get richer
and Bush is dumb…
and Bush hates poor people
and Bush knew about 9-11, but didnt want to stop it because then we could invade Iraq and get the oil
(how much did you pay for gas today?)
NO BLOOD FOR OIL!!!
This shit has to stop….to all you “bush haters” and liberals, and idiots who continue to embarass us as a nation with your insults and moronic crap spoon fed to you by Hillary, Pelosi and CNN..I am a U.S. Marine, I have spent the past 16 years of my life in the Corps defending the freedoms you enjoy and abuse. I lost my left leg from the knee down in Iraq. I did it while bringing clean water to a town that has been without for god knows how long, And if I had to do it all over again I would change only were I was standing that day…so that I could contine to fight to defend the freedoms we and others deserve. Please be worthy of my sacrifice…please be worthy of the sacrifices made by so many of my brothers and sisters. You may disagree with Our President, you may dislike him, but i beg of you to do the following first
If you must hate him, and speak out against him…do it with respect, he is the President of the United States of America we have lostso much respect as a nation world wide due to the way the left has treated this man and this position
if your going to form your opinion, please use something other than the media’s facts and talking points that sell papers and boost ratings. look beyond the biased opinions set forth by CNN, MSNBC, and yes Fox News as well, look at the facts you cant dispute
please do not abuse the rights given to you by millions of dead hero’s. please be worthy of the sacrifice made by us, please help me feel good about what I have done, please help my brothers and sisters feel good about what they have sacrificed…the support the troops but not the war is bullshit, if you truly support us…then support what we believe in and what we sacrifice our lives and bodies for as well, otherwise we would preffer you just kept your mouth shut…leave the words “support” and troops out of your arguments, you embarrass me and what I stand for
October 17th, 2006 at 10:04 am
So, you have unselfishly chosen to fight for “our” rights but anyone expressing views not to your liking is “abusing” those rights? Your point of view is a little narrow. In your last paragraph you stated that if we do not support you and what you believe in we should just shut up. Well, fact is you have chosen to be a soldier. Your job is to do whatever the American public wants you to do, what you personally believe in counts no more than what anyone else believes in. There has and always will be the loud voices on the left and right and the vast middle will move back and forth between them. That is the way this country works.
October 17th, 2006 at 1:11 pm
Alexsey is not a prankster…just someone with serious mental health issues who is trying to create a persona that he believes the rest of the world will love. The sad part is that his troubles were made public in 2002 in the Yale newspaper when Alexsey visited on a campus day. His tales of grandeur and delusions were made quite public years ago, and it is a pity that no one helped him when it was noted that he was enrolling at Yale. I pray that he gets help and that his life changes for the better. He most certainly will need to restart his life with a new name and preferably in another state. God is still a God of many chances who loves Alexsey in spite of his devious, lying, and dishonest ways. There is a bit of Alexsey in each of us but it always makes us feel better about ourselves if someone is much, much, worse than we could ever imagine ourselves ever being.
October 17th, 2006 at 2:30 pm
Alexsey has reached Norway. Congratulations to him, what a way to make yourself famous
October 17th, 2006 at 2:37 pm
Yes brian…you nailed it…that is what I was trying to say… Thanks for reading it and paying such close attention to what was written.
No…wait…nevermind…I guess its people like you I was talking to. Re-read it a few times then maybe you will get it….no, nevermind I ‘m sure you wont, I doubt you will get it untill you have fought like us and watched others act like such asses and morons with the rights and voices we defend…it will make you feel real good.
October 17th, 2006 at 3:18 pm
Everything I do & say is real because I believe it is.
“It’s not a lie, if you believe it” – George Costanza
October 17th, 2006 at 5:30 pm
this guy reminds me of my sisters ex boyfriend, who claimed he was a rock star , and toured japan. he claimed he had signature series guitars in his name , and had all kinds of musicians quotes on his page saying he was this and that.i found about 25 fake websites some of which decribed interveiws with mtv, and other celebrities. i guess it is the thing in ny,and nj to do this and think it is ok. he took her for 25k dollars, because he claimed he lost his guitars and gear to his ex girlfriend, so she bought him a new rig… ,, he pawned it, and broke up with her , when he knew she was onto him…i would mention names but i am not a person to start drama even though just like this Alexsey ass. he is a loser with high hopes that no one, will find out the truth.
October 17th, 2006 at 6:15 pm
Are you people INSANE?!?! This man killed 24 people (that we know of) in the caves of Tibet, and you would taunt him about some alleged exaggerations in his CV? You say his dancing was not great, but maybe he is just modest and did not show his best stuff. This is a man who wants to help children, but whose Web developer clearly was not on his A-game – you blame HIM? And you tennis fans who were unimpressed by his video have never been on the receiving end of one Alexsey’s 140 mph serves, have you? Well neither have I, but the man handles Connecticut nuclear waste (which for the record is some of the worst in the country) and from the looks of things can certainly deliver a nuclear serve and that, my friend, scares me! Now about that book: did you ever ask who wrote the section in the Online Holocaust Encyclopedia? Maybe someone by the name of Garber, maybe?? You folks trying to poke holes in Alexsey’s story need to do some background checking before you call the man a liar, lest you become know as “#25.”
October 17th, 2006 at 6:33 pm
I think this guy is perfect for handling nuclear waste. Who wants him procreating the race. Actually his quite the amatuer when it comes to BS but obviously quite good at setting up websites. Vayner if you read this, I’ll gladly meet you somewhere this side of the secret caves in Tibet to make another video. We have some things in common so beware. My birthday is 11 Aug except I’m a leo and I almost went to Yale but only did well on the martial arts written exams.
And to Phil. Stop trying to reason with the liberals. Their politics are like a religion. They don’t judge actions, they judge people. If their guy was in the white house they would be singing a totally different tune with the exact same results in the economy and the war on terror.
Pelosi once even tried to claim that the military that took Bahgdad so quickly was built by Bill Clinton. Liberals live in a parallel universe and will never earn my respect until they stop being a do as I say and not as I do type of population. Politically liberals are the Vayners of the world. Who else claimed to take the initiative to invent the internet?
It’s been fun. Sorry if I hurt any feelings.
October 17th, 2006 at 6:48 pm
I would like to thank Aleksey. He brought about the invention of my new favorite word Douche-tastic
October 17th, 2006 at 6:49 pm
Aleksey, if you’re reading this, and I know you are. You’re douche-tastic! And I mean that in the nicest way.
October 17th, 2006 at 7:15 pm
This story is hilarious! Would Phil please go post at anncoulter.com instead? he is bringing this thread down.
October 17th, 2006 at 10:08 pm
Mr. Vayner appears to have narcissistic personality disorder, from which he does not “suffer” by any means. Undoubtedly he is content in his grandiose fantasies, and believes that there is something wrong with the rest of the world. There isn’t any cure for NPD…why should there be? The narcissist sees no problems with his or her attitudes, and so wouldn’t seek treatment even if one existed.
Personality disorders will be the new “excuse” for duplicitous and irresponsible behavior…replacing alcoholism. Mark my words.
October 18th, 2006 at 12:35 am
Wow. This guy got eaten alive. I knew 2 guys like this and although I so wished they would get caught like Al Vay, after reading this. Damn! BTW.
I have practiced MA for over 10 years and I never could break bricks. I broke boards because it was a trick… you break with the grain of the wood, never against. My master was Old School hard core who broke 13 bricks and when he did it not one of them broke clean.
Al Vayner’s was also a simple trick. You simply cut with a diamond blade on the rear underside of the brick, but not all the way through. When the bricks are stacked the cut is faced inward towards Al Vay, which when ‘popped’ hard will produce a nice clean brick break, like you see in the video, but I guarantee does not happen in real life.
And I also did weight training for over 20 years, and having spotters touching at all is definitely spurned. If you dare touch any part of the bar when any guy is doing a power lift and then you will have 5 other muscle bound guys yelling at you “What the hell is your problem A$$hole! Touch it again and I will break your F!!king hands!!!” – (But for validation Al and I go to different gyms.)
And now my wife has me dancing class for the last 2 years… I suck, but I don’t believe he has trained because of his style and grace. I believe he practiced these segments and the woman makes him look better than he really is.
I know zilch about tennis, skiing, and I must be one of those dummies who can’t understand financial analyzing… because I just saw numbers and glazed over.
So thank you guys who understand all that other stuff to translate for me…
I still feel sorry for the guy… I have seen sea lions get more mercy from a pack of hungry sharks!
October 18th, 2006 at 10:45 am
It is sad, that I have met at lest to people in my life that is like this guy. Like him they truly belive what they are saying is real. Like our boy here, they too live in a world ddof a mix of real and fantasy. They just don’t know where the line stop and strats. Its funny that onece he had beenexposed, he has pulled down all his web pages. I do think he should be investigated for his fake charity. HAs people sent any money to him thinking it was the other charity, that is real?
All I can say is he needs help or he is a vrey bad con man.
October 18th, 2006 at 12:04 pm
Hey Phil…thanks, I bet Teej ment to say it but forgot…(and he is dead on right in everything he wrote)but any way, thanks for all of it… I hope there are others out there that will say it as well to both you and the other guys/gals…thank you
October 18th, 2006 at 1:44 pm
Man people, how could anyone feel sorry for this douchesnozzle? I got a friend whose like this too, but I’ve been breaking him of it. But Aleksey has gone completely insane with this $%!#, i mean come on; this can’t be a joke either, not with the testimonials and the Rumpus article. AV needs to be dragged into the street and shot for this crap; the plagiarism and fake charity thing are disgusting. Can we get some yale students to jump the little turd and beat the crap out of him for us?
October 18th, 2006 at 2:44 pm
People who I have met from Yale are worst than this guy! They are too busy projecting their fragile ego onto their prey, while in fact, they are no more than a bunch of self-aggrandizing group of narcists!
October 18th, 2006 at 3:40 pm
Let the WITCH HUNT begin!
This is venomous, in its purest form!
While you loosers are out attacking a person for the things he said, I have not heard one word about if he has ever hurt, injured, or damaged somebody, or anybody, or anything.
Sounds like your dada and mama have spent lots of money sending you to an Ivy League school to be a real Republican!
All of you should be ashamed of yourselves! You should all go home and be decent to better the human race!
October 18th, 2006 at 3:41 pm

This guy is a criminal. He set up a pirated childrens charity website to steal money from people. There is a special place in hell for this guy, he deserves every nesty word he has gotten.
October 18th, 2006 at 7:16 pm
You’re going to FEDERAL “POUND ME IN THE ASS” PRISON.
That’s original, by the way.
October 18th, 2006 at 9:04 pm
Wow – one of the most outstanding universities in the country has a student like this, how novel is that? Guess it shows that despite paying a fortune for your education, it didn’t take that much to lie your bottom off to attempt to get a job on Wall Street. Too bad you can video your way out of jail and becoming someone’s bitch!
October 19th, 2006 at 8:09 am
This guy is America’s anwser to Borat if you ask me!
I can’t wait until the movie comes out.
October 19th, 2006 at 10:11 am
I think it was an honest screw up; but he could still pull off a save: Borat II: The Douche-boy strikes back.
He could rally in defense of Uzbekistan, and challenge both Borat and Ali G to a Tibetan cave Death match. I think this is the flip side of reality TV; instead of having stars pretend they’re average people or filming Mockumentaries, the rules of normalcy are changing themselves and we’re all becoming self-absorbed head cases. If they can get a movie out quick enough they can cash in on great Internet momentum. I’m in Moscow for Christ sake. The only catch is that Douche-boy has to donate all his profits to a children’s charity. That stealing from kids part is unacceptable (consider that any donation could have gone to an actual children’s charity).
I’ll bet his agent’s in negotiations right now…
October 19th, 2006 at 5:30 pm
Wow, I thought this story would die out quickly, but people just keep finding more dirt… Anyway, My two cents is that if this guy actually believes the stuff he has written and put on his resume, he should be committed and given help. If he is actually consciously making this stuff up, he deserves to be kicked out of school and prosecuted for the charity thing. As I was reading this, however, I came to an interesting conclusion: He is absurdly lucky that he got caught now- suppose he actually made it into a financial services career; if he pulled unethical shit like this, he would actually end up in jail. Perhaps he has a chance to change now. I think people deserve a second chance in most cases. Its not like he killed anyone… oh wait except for all of thos tibetans… fuck

The Garber effect
Sex, Alexey, and Videotape
October 21st, 2006 at 8:51 pm
Please do NOT feel too sorry for him. In addition to the faux charity, I’m wiling to bet large sums that Alexey has taken advantage (emotionally, financially and otherwise) of numerous credulous young ladies (and/or gents) not yet sophisticated enough to sniff out his pathology. Though he’s hopefully poison in the eyes the proper finance world, I’m still not certain that he isn’t about to become next in the line of Jessica Hahn, Kato Kaelin, Anna Nicloe Smith and Paris Hilton: famous for being famous (and fascinating like a car crash). I’m sure there’s plenty of money to be made yet for our man from Uzbekistan.

Regarding: Phil’s comments:
>>
I am a U.S. Marine, I have spent the past 16 years of my life in the Corps defending the freedoms you enjoy and abuse. I lost my left leg from the knee down in Iraq. I did it while bringing clean water to a town that has been without for god knows how long

If he is a CEO of a “Preeminent Investment Firm”, then WHY is he trying to get a job with UBS or any other company??

I got to know this guy back in 2000 when he helped us develop a short lived, but very successful business, Bonsai Kitten. We were able to form and sell beautifully shaped cats using a prucess Aleksey Garber leared from some of his Eastern mentors. And, he was still in High School! A wonderful bright young man. I’m so sorry he decided not to go to MIT, but instead went down to Yale.
October 23rd, 2006 at 4:20 am
One of the best things about his covering letter? “I strive in intense, competitive environments.” Yup, I guess he finds it really hard. And I defnitely thrive on reading all about his bullshit life!
Aleksey – you’ve made a rainy autumn day in Norway sooo much better! Thank you!
October 23rd, 2006 at 6:53 am
Ha Ha:) He could be kidding with us all, making the best internet stunt on PR ever:) But I dont think he is that smart. But funny as hell anyway. He reminds me about Patrick Bateman in the american film “american psycho” Many people in Norway got a good laugh of this celebrity trick.

Ten Dollars says he ends up in Grad school at duke.
October 23rd, 2006 at 5:40 pm
I think he and Heather Mills would make a GREAT couple…
October 23rd, 2006 at 8:06 pm
Oh your God, this is the best I have seen in ages!
October 23rd, 2006 at 8:14 pm
I soooo agree on the Heather Mills connection! lol
October 24th, 2006 at 7:10 am
Yeah… Grad school at Duke, and then fabricate a handful of short stories that exaggerate his drinking, sexual exploits, keen wit, etc.
October 24th, 2006 at 4:07 pm
No one seems to have pointed out yet that all of his creations, aspirations, and philosophy parallel that of his sister(?), dexcribed here in this CNN article:
http://money.cnn.com/2005/03/04/real_estate/investment_prop/tycoongarber/index.htm
Anybody got any insight along these lines? Crazy and crazier still…
October 28th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
I just spent 4 hours reading about this guy, I’m freaking obsessed.
Congratulations on being famous in Norway as well. Maybe this international celebrity status can help you get jobs in other countries? :D
In his defense (somewhat):
The YES site he made is actually better than the real YES site, which is sort of sad.
The video is, from a technical point of view, in fact very very good (reguardless of his lack of skill).
But any dimwit with an IQ higher than a doorknob can tell that this guy needs a psychiatrist and some hardcore medication before he should be allowed to contact other human beings ever again.
A part from feeling sorry for Aleksey, there are a couple innocent victims (his sister for instance) that will be remember for this for a long time.
Oh who cares. More please! Feed the masses!

May 2002. Page 12 everyone. http://www.yale.edu/rumpus/archives/pdf/rumpus_may02.pdf “Maybe, once, you lied about your age, or your weight, or your location the night your unfaithful boyfried… Aleksey Garber, who has been accepted to the Yale class of ‘06, is not impressed.”
October 29th, 2006 at 6:10 pm
Good to see that other people are wasting too much time on this guy too. You want more? Here it is… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baoKOx1Ssp0
Endless fun with this guy. He seems to enjoy digging his own grave. Maybe he’ll dig all the way over here soon…?
October 30th, 2006 at 4:37 am
This has to be a troll. Like some Yalie drama students are seeing how far they can run with this a made up persona. Maybe some mass social experiment.

The following was taken from an actual application for admission to NYU (New York University)
NYU Essay: In order for the admissions staff of our college to get to know you, the applicant, better, we ask that you answer the following question: are there any significant experiences you have had, or accomplishments you have realized, that have helped to define you as a person?
Gallagher ’s Essay:
I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently.
Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row.
I woo women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing, I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in twenty minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru.
Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants.
I play bluegrass cello, I was scouted by the Mets, I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I’m bored, I build suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. On Wednesdays, after school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.
I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don’t perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller ‘number nine’ and have won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. I bat .400.
My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me.
I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I know the exact location of every food item in the supermarket. I have performed several covert operations for the CIA. I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. The laws of physics do not apply to me.
I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid. On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four course meals using only a mouli and a toaster oven.
I breed prizewinning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis.
But I have not yet gone to college.

2 Things:
1. The Manhattan address’s only error is the last digit of the zip code. I’m not sure what the building is supposed to be, but 25 East 32nd street does exist. Funny he’d get the zip code wrong, though. ha.
2. Notice the person listed as the addressee–”Tamara Garber”. Must be his sister or mother, as his last name was formerly Garber. That leads me to believe that the address is real, and if anyone’s donated, it’s gone straight to his pocket. Creep.
What could Yale do about this? Does it even legally affect them at all? Is any of this a violation of their academic integrity policy? If he goes so far to lie like this, how honest has he been with his coursework and during exams?

Has anyone noticed how evenly the bricks separated? They were clearly cut with an angle grinder!
In any case, what’s the big deal about splitting bricks – a brick has never thrown a punch that I know of…
All Hail Aleksey Vayner!

Having said this, I can’t help feeling that this is a US-based version of Borat. Surely this is a satirical video, and he is simply demonstrating his skills in creating a media storm? If he is taking the piss, then he’s a genius, and I applaud his sense of humour. If he’s in earnest, then he is a fairly strange fellow.

I’m from Uzbekistan, and I just cannot say something on this guy… what the hell is he doing?! I guess he’s just running a game on us, or maybe just trying to PR himself )) yep, I should try it too ))

Are you surprised that so many of the shining stars of wall-street are ivy graduates? Which brand of weed are the ivy admissions officers smoking? After all these exposures, have they changed their admissions policies? Why do you need to be an extreme anything to be a decent student? It is this kind of balls and brawn that has gotten Americans into trouble all over the world today.

One word: Narcissist
April 10th, 2007 at 6:03 pm
As a conservative Republican hanging onto every word out of Rush Limbaugh’s mouth and an avid supporter of GW Bush and all of the elit class that advocates the invasion of Multi-MILLIONS of illegal aliens in order to keep the wages of the working poor as low as possible I can only support any action that results in personal gain.
It is how the “game” is played in the USA.
There is no room for honesty or integrity or being civil and fair to your fellow citizens.
Look to America’s elite class and corporate structure and to the 4-percent of Americans holding over 80-percent of the nation’s wealth to see how things really work. Vayner is doing nothing that America’s elites haven’t done. The elites just have better public relations people.
Now, obey your betters, commoners. You are nothing but deluded brainwashed morons.
Obey or be labeled as unpatriotic and unAmerican.
Support the status quo that ensures America’s elites retain their death-grip on the reigns of power and their HUGE share of the national wealth.
Obey.

He lied, but that doesn’t deserve public crucification. He’s not an elected body and is not in a position of power, so why the vitriol? Kick ‘em while their down! Yeah!
