Columbia to Ahmadinejad: Broke Ya Neck
This just in: Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will not be speaking at Columbia tomorrow after all. Yesterday’s announcement of his address came as a surprise to many — including the president of the university, who said he found many of MahAh’s views “repugnant”; the cancellation, they say, is due to “logistical reasons.” Rounding up security for the president of Iran on short notice — yeah, could be. But we’re guessing it’s really the logistics of removing President Lee Bollinger’s foot from the behind of international affairs dean Lisa Anderson, who issued the invitation without a whole lot of foresight.
